A MESSAGE FROM OUR PASTOR

Dear Holy Apostles Parish Family:

The month of June has been dedicated to opening our church in a safe and steady manner. Today we have worked our way up to 100 people. We will slowly find our capacity, which we only reach at 10 AM and 11:30 AM. It is possible that we may have to add another Spanish Mass on Sunday.

Our next move is to open the Adoration Chapel for 7 days a week from 5 AM to 10 PM. We feel that we can cover these times. Many who cover hours are not comfortable coming back yet. We will have guidelines like wearing masks, keeping 6 feet apart and cleaning where you sat. I am glad we can open the chapel since so many find comfort there.

In July we are going to be doing First Communions at some Saturday special masses and also small groups of them at Sunday masses. On July 18, Aaron Downing will be ordained to the Diaconate and will serve as deacon at our masses that week-end. In August, we will have Confirmation and bring in our RCIA candidates.

Thank you for your patience and thanks to all of our greeters for making coming back to church possible. My hope is that those who want to come back feel safe and find it helpful. Many are not ready yet and that is fine. This is a summer where we are all trying to figure out what our new norm can be. It is important to take everyone at their own speed and be cautious and safe.

There are three ways to register to attend a public mass: (Every week registration opens on Wednesday and closes on Friday evening.) 1. Go to our website tcoha.org and click on Mass

Registration (large tab on the home page) and then select your desired mass. This is also how to register for Confession. You will receive a confirmation that you are registered for a mass.

2. Download the Church Center app. Set up a log-in and then register every member of your family. Then click on Events and select your desired mass. You will receive a confirmation of your registration.

3. If you don’t have access to the internet, call the Parish Office at 815-385-5673 on Wednesday through Friday only, from 9 AM to 3 PM.

Love Your Neighbors: Give to St. Vincent As we all continue to navigate through social distancing and a focus on staying healthy, the impacts reverberate throughout our own lives, our local community and our country. Many of us have been unable to work due to temporary business closures and/or our children being home from school. As we support our loved ones and friends through phone calls, social media contact and our prayers, you may wonder how you can also support others in our community. The St. Vincent de Paul Society greatly appreciates your do-nations through GiveCentral; all donations go directly toward helping those in our community who are strug-gling with utility, housing, medical bills as well as with food shortages. "Whoever has a bountiful eye will be blessed, for he shares his bread with the poor." Proverbs 22:9

Food Distributions for Those in Need A Northern Illinois Food Bank mobile food distribution is scheduled for this Monday, June 29, at 4 PM here at Holy Apostles. Food will be dis-tributed on a first-come, first-served basis until all the food is distributed. This is a drive-through event to comply with safe distancing requirements. Food is pre-packed in boxes and placed in your car trunk.

Boxes of food are also distributed every Wednesday, 5 to 6 PM, here at Holy Apostles. Recently these distri-butions have included meat and dairy.

All distributions are open to anyone who is in need of food. If someone you know is struggling to get food on the table, please pass this information on to them.

1st Way Seeks Ultra-Sonographer 1st Way Life Center in Johnsburg is a life-affirming pregnancy support service. They currently have a part-time position available for an RDMS (must have OB-GYN credential) to perform limited OB ultrasounds. This is a paid position. Exciting News for First Communion Families Our First Communion families have been patiently waiting since its postponement in March, to hear about when they will be able to celebrate this special sacrament with their children. Eleven First Communion Masses (to allow for safe social distancing of 89 First Communicants and their families) have been scheduled for three July weekends. If you have a child that is receiving their First Communion you should have received an email with a link that will allow you how to select and register for a Mass. Join Our Faith through RCIA RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) is a program to help people learn about the Catholic faith. If you have: · never been Baptized · been Baptized as a Catholic but not received any

other sacraments · been Baptized in another faith · been Baptized, received your First Communion but

not Confirmation · or if you are a confirmed Catholic who wants to

Register Now for Marian’s Golf Outing Marian Central Catholic High School’s golf outing will be held on Monday, July 20, at Bull Valley Golf Club, 1311 Club Rd., Woodstock, IL, with a tentative shotgun start of 11 AM. The registration fee is $150 per golfer and includes an outdoor cookout dinner. To register or to sponsor the event go to e.givesmart.com/events/hns/. Marian is working with Bull Valley Golf Club to safely run an event with current restrictions. Funds raised will benefit Marian’s Athletic Department Program.

Scheduling Your Child’s Baptism Congratulations on the birth of your child! We are now allowed to have Baptisms take place with a limited number of attendees. We are scheduling Baptisms on Saturdays and Sunday afternoons. Please Return Baby Bottles Way back in March before our church shut down, our Respect Life Ministry offered their annual Baby Bottle Collection to benefit 1st Way Life Center Pregnancy Support Services. Please return your baby bottle(s) when you are attending mass in the church (with or without donations in them) to the marked box in the narthex or drop them off in the parish of-fice during the week. 1st Way Life Center offers no-cost, confidential counseling, pregnancy testing, and infant supplies to women and girls who are experi-encing unexpected pregnancies. Thank you!

Every Wednesday from 5 to 6 PM, boxes of food are distributed to any-one in our communi-ty who is in need of food.

The food is safely placed into recipi-ents’ cars for the least amount of contact. Our amaz-ing volunteers, youth and adults, Hispanic and non-Hispanic,

generously give their time and energy to help feed and love our neigh-bors as Jesus calls us to do. A huge thank you to all those who coordinate and work this weekly food distribution! Your parish family is grateful for your efforts.

Options for Your Child’s Faith Formation Holy Apostles understands the importance of growing in faith while staying safe at the same time. This year, an online option for your child will be available for those interested in doing so. Children are more likely to put into practice the faith they see lived out day to day at home. We offer a variety of faith-based programs for kids in K through 12th Grade beginning in September. Our Family Faith Formation program are on Sundays starting at 8:30 AM followed by Mass at 10 AM and on Tuesdays starting at 5 PM. The sessions are family oriented; parents are to attend with their children. The session begins with a family project/activity, followed by a discussion topic for parents while their children receive lessons in a classroom. Childcare is available for children in preschool or younger. Classes begin September 1 and run through May 2, 2021. Register on our website tcoha.org under the Mass Registration tab and choose Family Faith Formation. A 20% discount on tuition will be offered when you register by July 6, 2020. Camión de Comida Mañana lunes 29 de junio, estará el camión de comida distribuyendo despensas de alimentos a las 4 PM. No necesita registrarse, solo venga y se le depositará su despensa en la cajuela de su au-tomóvil. De igual manera todos los miércoles de 5 a 6 PM la parroquia entrega despensas para todas las familias que estén necesitadas de alimentos, pase la voz.

Cómo Registrarse para Asistir a Misa Para poder asistir a las misas del domingo o el martes, debe registrarse con anterioridad. El sistema de nuestro sitio web le da acceso a registrarse a partir del miércoles a las 10 AM para asistir a la misa del domingo. Y el lunes después de las 9 AM para asistir a la misa del martes. También puede llamar a la oficina y con gusto le ayudaremos a registrarse. Solo nece-sitamos su nombre y número de teléfono. Esta infor-mación es confidencial, solo la parroquia tiene acceso a sus datos. La parroquia no comparte ninguna infor-mación con nadie más.

Mensaje del Pastor Querida familia de la parroquia de los Santos Apóstoles: El mes de junio nos hemos dedicado a abrir nuestra iglesia de manera segura y gradualmente. Hoy hemos pensado llegar hasta las 100 personas. Lentamente en-contraremos nuestra capacidad, capacidad que tal vez solo lograremos en las misas de 10 AM y 11:30 AM. Es posible que tengamos que agregar otra misa en español el domingo. Nuestro próximo paso es abrir la Capilla de Adoración durante 7 días a la semana de 5 AM a 10 PM. Esperamos poder cubrir este horario. Muchos de los adoradores per-manentes aún no se sienten cómodos regresando. Los grupos más pequeños es-tarán en las misas del domingo. El 18 de julio, Aaron Downing será ordenado al Diaconado y servirá como diácono en nuestras misas ese fin de semana. En agosto, tendremos las Confirmaciones y a nuestros candidatos de RICA. Gracias por su paciencia y gracias a todo nuestro equipo de bienvenida por hacer posible el regreso a la iglesia. Bienvenido a Casa ¡Gracias por registrarse para asistir a la Misa! Si no puede asistir, les pedimos que envíen un correo elec-trónico a Jen Marsh a jmarsh@tcoha.org para cancelar su registro para que otros puedan asistir. Llegue 15 minutos antes del comienzo de la misa para garantizar el tiempo suficiente para confirmer su nom-bre como registrado y para que le de tiempo a sentarse antes de dar inicio la Santa Misa. Antes de llegar: - Lávese las manos durante 20 segundos. - Debe traer su mascara puesta todo el tiempo. - Puede traer su propio desinfectante para manos, pero se le proporsionará en la entrada de la iglesia. Por favor no vengas si: - Usted está inmunocomprometido. - Estás en una categoría de riesgo. - Tiene síntomas similares a los de la gripe. - No te has registrado previamente. -Al entrar a la Iglesia debe acercarse con uno de los servidores de bienvenida para que confirmen su nom-bre en la lista de los registrados. - Serás conducido a tu asiento y a 6 pies de distancia de otras personas. Los asistentes estarán espaciados de manera segura y la entrada y salida serán dirigidas por los miembros del equipo. -Los niños estarán permitidos bajo la supervision de sus padres, si el niño/a necesita ir al baño, uno de los servidores les acompañara hasta la puerta del baño. -Para recibir la comunión debes esperar que los servi-dores los guíen hacia el sacerdote o el diácono. -Una vez que se haya terminado la celbración de la misa, la iglesia y el Narthex deben ser desocupados de inmediato para que puedan limpiar a fondo antes y después de cada misa.
