CHAIRMAN’S REPORT Goeie dag almal

Ons Rally by Queensburgh Karavaan park was, soos gewoonlik, weer baie lek-

ker. Party van ons lede was gelukkig om weereens al ‘n dag vroeër te kon gaan

en solank hulleself tuis te maak by die besondere mooi park.

The weekend was very relaxed – on Friday night our Marshalls, Hans and Franci,

made a lovely stir-fry for supper. Even though the rain kept us on our toes the

whole weekend, we still stayed at the braai area until late every night.

With Monday being a Holiday, it really made a difference to the weekend whereby there was no hurry to

pack up and go home after the normal Friendlies on Sunday.

Verlede Saterdag het 4 van ons komitee lede die Provinsiale AGM in Durban gaan bywoon. Soos ek

alreeds by ons AGM gesê het, Stephan en Juliet het weens gesondheidsredes bedank as Provinsiale

Verteenwoordiger en Tesourier. Die nuwe Provinsiale komitee is gekies soos volg:

Rene Stroebel is gekies as Provinsiale Verteenwoordiger, Vannessa Clark as Sekretaresse en Carol

Cawood as Tesourier. Ons wens hulle baie geluk in hulle nuwe portfolios.

At the AGM it was decided to, from now on, change the yearly Fixture list to also run as per our Finan-

cial Year ending, 1 July – 30 June of each year. This will be a better way to calculate achievements and

full house awards which are presented at the AGM every year. Our Secretary, Thea, will change the

present Fixture list to accommodate all the months and venues up to next year’s financial ending – 30

June 2019 and it will be added in the Panga like that as well.

Myself, Thea and Monese will be attending the Annual Convention which will be held during the week-

end of 19 – 21 October in Springs, Gauteng. Feedback of discussions from the Convention will be given

to our members after the Convention.

November maand se Rally sal ons laaste Rally vir 2018 wees, maw. ons Kersfees Rally. Ons het idees

nodig vir die versiering van die saal en tafels. Ek vra dat ons lede asb. met idees na vore kom om

sodoende nie alles weer vir Thea te los om te reêl nie.

Intention Slips and information regarding this Rally will be sent to our members soon.

As Thea has mentioned, our Mystery Rally will be at the end of October. Instructions will be given to our

members soon….. I really hope to see a good attendance.

SECRETARY’S SCRIBBLE

We knew there would not be a lot of vans going to Queensburgh, but were very happy to still reach the target of 10 vans…… 8 members and 4 visitors of which 2 stayed with a family with a van. Dit was heerlik dat Nadine Bennett, Johnny en Annemarie se dogter, weer saam ons gerally het. Nadine het nou haar 2 rallies bygewoon en aangesluit as lid van ons Noordkus Streek. Welkom Nadine, ons hoop jy gaan sommer nog baie jare lekker saam kuier. Richard en Teresa, Johnny en Annemarie se dogter en haar man en kinders het nou ook karavaan gekoop en dit die naweek, so in die reen, uitgetoets deur saam ons te Rally. Hulle het ook Rich-ards se ma en vriende saamgebring wat almal lekker saam gekuier het. Richard hulle gaan nou

ook aansluit as lede van ons familie. Hans & Franci van Koert was our Marshalls for the weekend and they prepared a superb stir-fry for us for supper for Friday night. Thanks to them, we all had second and third helpings of the food. Saterdag en Sondag was net rustig en almal het net rond gesit en kuier. Daar is Saterdag aand heerlik gebraai en gekuier tot laat. Sondag het meeste van ons gebruik gemaak van die vakansiedag Maandag en aangebly vir die ekstra dag. Party van ons het die middag potjiekos gemaak en lekker gekuier tot die reën vroeg aand gesorg het dat ons goed nat word en nie weer tot laat kon kuier nie. Lourens decided that as no one of the ‘stirrer spoon owners’ from our last Rally were attending this Rally… we would not hand them out this time round. But nobody knew that Leon has made sure that a Fines Marshall will be doing his check-ups throughout the weekend. Johan made sure on Sunday at Friendlies he handed out a good amount of fines to everyone…. As the word says… he was the wolf in the sheep jacket…. Maar so moes hy ook maar ‘n lekker boete betaal vir sy ‘vergeetagtigheid’ – hy vergeet toe mos waar hy sy beursie bêre en na 2 of 3 ure se gesoek, en ek meen gesoek…. Alles omkeer en uitgooi en terugpak, waar kry hy die beursie ? Onder die coverflap/omhulsel en deur van die coolerbox yskas…. Hy het selfs gemaak dat Piet en Susan wat vroeër by hulle koffie gedrink het, skuldig begin voel het dat hy dalk dink hulle het die beursie gesteel!!!!! Happiness/Sadness: It looks like Zelma’s hand and neck wounds are slowly getting better. Susan de Beer’s one big toe was amputated and she is recovering staying at Dick’s sister in Vereeniging. Laura’s grandchildren are both out of hospital and recovering fast, but now Laura is in hospital for tests. Susan Botha looks funny with the neckpiece holding her head upright, but behaved and kept herself quiet and still for the whole weekend. Franci van Koert went for a few tests to be done and we await the outcome. Will keep you updated. Piet Botha is ook ge-opereer aan sy enkel/hak vir spiere wat afgeskeur is. Die besering het al by Penicuik gebeur. Sterkte ook aan Piet, hoop jy is gou weer op altwee bene. Ons innige simpatie met Francois Minnie wie se broer weens kanker oorlede is. Baie geluk aan Ernst en Nickey Bohm wat die groot knoop deurgehak het…. Welkom Nickey as die amptelike mev. Bohm Jnr.

Ek en Lourens is baie trots op ons kleinseun LJ,11 jaar oud, wat Mpumalanga verteenwoordig en aan die SA Jeug-skou kompetisie deelneem in George waar hy yogurt en fettakaas maak. Hy het algeheel 4de plek behaal in die kompetisie….. Ons vertrou dat al ons lede wat ongesteld is, gou sal gesond word. Onthou asb. om my op hoogte te hou van enige goeie of slegte nuus in enige familie van ons Noordkus Streek. General info: The puzzle piece raffle was won by Franci van Koert and nobody won the Pick a box raffle this month. Piet and Susan celebrated their 10th National Rally milestone. Congratulations, may the next 10 Rallies be enjoyed. October Rally will be our Mystery Rally, which means you will be given instructions/directions of how to get the this park without knowing which park it is and where exactly it is situated. Lourens and myself has taken a drive to the Mystery park, there is a lot of big trees, grass stands, a boma, braai area and swimming pool. You will be getting the Intention Slips and Directions to the park very soon. The park is not very far from Richards Bay, form part of a Na-ture Reserve and has walking trails to do during the weekend. This rally is during the weekend of 26 -28 October. So, come and enjoy another weekend with friends. Tariffs are: Members: R75 pppn, member pensioners: R60 pppn, children: 0 - 12yrs – free, 13 to 16yrs – R30 pcpn. Visitors/non-members: R90 pppn, pensioners – R75 pppn, children 0-12yrs – free, 13yrs to 16yrs – R45 pcpn November Rally : 23 – 25 November 2018 will be our Christmas Rally at the Richards Bay Caravan Park.
