TRANSCRIPT
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
I am fortunate to begin my fourth year as Pastor here at
Mission Basilica San Juan Capistrano. From
the beginning, my focus has been to cultivate one Parish.
We are a diverse and eventful campus filled with all the
activities of our Parish, School and Historic Mission. We
come together from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
What binds us is our faith and devotion to Christ. We are
One in focus and community.
The following pages are a picture of our Parish activities
for the past year. We are blessed to have the support of so
many committed families. Your generous donations made
it possible for us to remodel the confessionals, repair the
ailing motors for the bells, reach our Pastoral Services
Appeal goal, launch a new website, and open a new room in
the Bell Tower for weddings and meetings.
I am deeply grateful to everyone who gave of their time,
talent and treasure during the past year. Your charitable
gifts and devotion have contributed to the growth of our
community. Thank you!

which are given to the Diocese or set
aside for capital projects. Finally, the
Special donations are restricted by the
donor for a specific purpose.
ParishExpenses
The expenses of our Parish are listed
here. They are broken down into
four sections. Administration is first
followed by Liturgy, Ministry and
Diocese costs. Liturgical costs include
salaries for our priests and musicians
who serve during masses, weddings
and funerals. Ministerial costs involve
ministry salaries and the costs of our
many programs. Diocesan costs include
assessments as well as funds collected
for the Pastoral Services Appeal and
other special collections.

I hope you will spend a moment to take in the breadth
of ministries and groups that contribute to the vibrant
faith community at Mission Basilica San Juan
Capistrano and Mission Basilica School. We
are blessed to have ministry support of well over five hundred
people in the form of priests, staff, teachers, catechists,
core team leaders, coordinators, facilitators, liturgical
ministers and volunteers who touch and transform all of us
in some way. Thank you for your engagement and active
participation in evangelizing the Gospel not only here, but
also for the larger community.
Thank you for the financial support that helps sustain
our ministries and facilities. We strive each day to be
accountable to God and each year in our annual report to
provide transparency to you.
The Stewardship team’s focus for the next year is to
encourage a culture of hospitality that creates a sense of
welcome to all who call this holy place home and all who
visit. May the light of Christ shine in and through each of us.
