A NOTE FROM THE PASTOR Our faith formation program has started up. There are classes at both churches so be careful entering and ex-iting the two parking lots. The parish picnic was this Saturday. I want to thank all those who helped at the picnic. I appreciate the time you spent to make the picnic possible. Some other upcoming events are: September 29th, coffee after the 10:30 AM Mass at St. Dorothy’s Church. October 6th, the blessing of the pets at 1:30 PM in the side yard at St. Dorothy’s Church. October 19th, the Anointing Mass and luncheon in Vil-lanova Hall at 11:30 AM. October 19th , a ham and bean supper at St. Dorothy’s after the 4:00 PM Mass. Here is an update for the Catholic Appeal. Our goal for the Parish of the Transfiguration is $56,000.00. Between those who responded to the Cardinal’s letter or mailed in a check or gave online or on Commitment Sunday, we have $62,500.00 in gifts and pledges. If all the pledges are paid off, we will have met our as-sessment. As of now September 9, there is $6,234.00 in outstanding pledges. Again, thanks to all the fami-lies who made a gift or pledge to the 2019 Catholic Appeal. If you would like to make a pledge to the Catholic Appeal, it is not too late. Finally, on a personal note, on Friday (9/27) I will be heading back to the operating room to deal with some continuing complications from the radiation I received for prostate cancer. Although I will be at the rectory after the surgery, I will not be saying any Masses or doing my usual meet and greet that weekend. Well, that is it for now. Until next time, take care. Fr. Earley
