September 2009 on the occasion of the 4 years of

Fluency Initiative in Mauritius.

Cet album reprend l’essentiel d’un montage photographique qui a été projeté le 12 septembre 2009 à l’occasion des 4 ans de

l’Initiative Fluency.

2005 – The first steps…

1 Mark Irwin, president of the International Stuttering Association, meets Jim Caroopen at the Caudan Waterfront.

2 & 3 Mark and Jim take part in an information session on stuttering and self ‐help. Following the meeting, those present decide to

launch the first self ‐help group for persons who stutter in Mauritius.

2006 – Parole d’Espoir takes off

1 Friends and Family Workshop. A day spent together to learn more about stuttering and share experiences.

expériences.

2 End‐of ‐therapy Celebration. After six months of self ‐help therapy, friends, families and colleagues are invited to celebrate our

achievements.

2007 – A day at the beach

After the 2007 self ‐help session, participants spend a day at the beach. In the morning, the last meeting of the session was

held at the “Beau Rivage” hotel, in Belle Mare.

2008 – Intensive Therapy Week

1 Anne‐Marie Simon and Aude Fresnay deliver a one‐week Intensive Therapy for eight members of Friends 4 Fluency.

2008 in the “Campement des Lorettes”, situated in Souillac on the south coast of the island.

à Souillac, un village côtier au sud de l’île.

3 & 4 Leisure time during the therapy week: excursions to Rochester Falls (3) and Gris‐Gris beach (4).

Moments de détente pendant le stage thérapeutique : excursions aux cascades Rochester (3) et sur la plage de Gris‐Gris (4).

are

invited

to

a festive

meeting

to

mark

the

4 years

of

Fluency

Initiative in Mauritius. The Fluency Island magazine project is launched on that occasion.

La nouvelle équipe de direction accueille les parents, les amis et les anciens membres de l’association au “Ebène Skies” pour

fêter ensemble les 4 ans de l’Initiative Fluency. A cette occasion, le projet “Fluency Island” est lancé.

4 Jim Caroopen passes on leadership of Friends 4 Fluency to David Victoire, the newly elected president.

2010 – The final stop

After the last meeting, during which the winding up of Friends 4 Fluency is confirmed, the members say bye‐bye and thank

you to everyone…

tous ceux et toutes celles qui les ont soutenus.
