This is the sequel to "The Second Life of Nick Mason" This story

Hum if you don't know the
words Bianca Marais 5 WELL written
Hunger Games Trilogy Suzanne Collins 5
Instead of just doing a separate review of each of the three
books in this series, I thought I would just put them all together
into one because I find it hard to separate one book from the
others. Even though it is hard to picture Katniss Everdeen
without thinking of the great Jennifer Lawrence, this is a
heroine who accomplishes a lot before she even reaches the
age of 18. These books go through her terrible journey of
having to be in a world where she is forced to kill people for
other people's entertainment, and then gets caught in a war
and be the heroine she doesn't really want to be. I loved these
books, but I thought the love triangle between her, Gale, and
Peeta was ridiculous, but if you haven't read these books by
now, you definitely should!

Trouble Jesse Kellerman 5
Jesse is an award winning playwright and the son of novelists
Jonathan and Faye Kellerman. I first read Jesse when he
teamed up on a few books with his dad. Now I read Jesse
Kellerman because he is an outstanding novelist in his own
right. I loved "Trouble" and his other novels. All of the
characters are compelling and relatable, the dialogue is tight
with some witty moments that lightened some of the intensity
and seriousness of this twisty mystery thriller. This book will

A touch of scarlet Renee Ryan 4 Nice relaxing reading
A Wrinkle in Time Madeleine L'Engle 4
I read the 50th anniversary edition and really enjoyed the
afterword written by her granddaughter and her Newberry
acceptance speech, it clarified some of the things I enjoyed and
disliked about the story.
Accused : a Rosato and
Associates novel Lisa Scottoline 4 good reaD
After Her Joyce Maynard 4
Nice feeling for bond with a sister. Two different personalities
grow up together, share events.
Agnes Peter Stamm 4 Realism at its best
Alias Grace Margaret Atwood 4
I watched the miniseries first, and then read the book second,
just so I could understand what was going on first. This is
definitely a book I recommend! Grace Marks is a mystery
wrapped in an enigma because you do not know if what she
says is true, and also if she is guilty of the crime she
committed. What also shocked me is that the characters and
the crime that took place actually happened in real life. If you
like mysteries, a puzzle without a solution, and a book that
makes you think and doesn't give you answers, this is the book
for you!
An Irish Country Wedding Patrick Taylor 4 Love the Irish Sayings
Another day, another Dali Sandra Orchard 4 Intersting author, 1st time read
Badlands David Robbins 4
I love westerns, the characters, the vernacular, the morals.
This book was about good vs bad; sisterly envy and good old
fashioned western morals.

the reader from the first chapter and keeps you wanting to keep
reading about the journey of this family.

big girl panties is a amusing bit of fluff that entertains without
having to invest too much brain; a nice diversion on a hot day.
Bird's Eye View Elinor Florence 4
I enjoyed this book and look forward to reading more works by
this Canadian author. A young Saskatchewan girl eagerly joins
the war effort, only to become disillusioned by the destruction.
When tragedy strikes, she struggles to move forward,
eventually finding the strength within herself. I just finished
reading about the life of Churchill during the war years,so
perhaps the previous book helped enhance and bring this
entire story to life.

Blue Nights Joan Didion 4 Leaves one with food for thought on loss and aging
Bone Crossed Patirica Briggs 4

career of evil Robert Galbraith 4
Most of this mystery held my interest but I found too many
references to the first book, which were irrelevant. Good cliff
hanger at the end though. Can't wait for the next one :)
Ceremony in Death
J.D. Robb/Nora

CITY OF FRIENDS JOANNA TROLLOPE 4

follow the storyline to the very end. Repeated the first two
discs when I reached the end
Tangled Webs Irene Hannon 4
The book dealt with some tough issues of PTSD and dementia
with a very human group of characters. It had a few characters
that were almost too perfect but in total the book showed that
life has big challenges.

THE NIGHT TRADE EISLER 4
The Perfect Match Kristan Higgins 4
Well written, I cried at one point. Only a very good writer can
get you emotionally invested enough to cry while reading a
story.
The Perfect Mother: A Novel Aimee Molloy 4
Intense and emotional story. Very different women come
together in a "Mommy" group to share their experience and
support each other as they navigate life being first-time
mothers with newborn babies. Tragedy draws them closer but
no one is prepared when secrets are revealed. Lots of twists
and turns before a surprising ending.

Warlight Michael Ondaatje 4 Beautifully written
Warlight Michael Ondaatje 4
I really enjoyed this story. The story begins at the end of the
second world war in Britain. A brother and sister, two teenaged
who are left in the care of an unlikey caregiver, when the
parents are suddenly called out of the country for a year. The
man who boards in the family's attic becomes guardian along
with a diverse cast of characters who drop by the house at all
hours, making themselves quite at home. Lies are discovered,
which prompts the question, why all of the deceit? Questions
will be answered, only to bring about even more questions. The
story unfolds in surprising and sometimes shocking ways.

Now and always Lori Copeland 3 I thought it was okay
Original Highways Roy MacGregor 3 History of Canada's rivers
Peony in Love Lisa See 3
Perfect Rachel Joyce 3
Our book club selection, not my choice although I had enjoyed
her first book. I found the alternating chapters rather disjointing
and I thought they were the same time frame so was quite
surprised when the two stories meshed into one nevertheless
an interesting premise exploring the minds and actions of
teenage boys and meanness of adults and spousal abuse and
the social mores of the times
Perfect - A Novel Rachel Joyce 3
An "imperfect interpretation" of an event leads to altering the
lives of two young boys. There is a bittersweet reunion decades
later.
Perfect Pigeon Wormser 3
Pray for silence Linda Castillo 3
Queen of the underworld Gail Godwin 3
Should have been good but I found it irritatingly academic and
over informative and really weird ending

Introduction J.D. Salinger 3
First portion okay. Love story similar to the type told by F.
Scott Fitzgerald. But "Seymour an Introduction" was pretty
slow going. Very verbose. Difficult to stay interested in
Seymour due to author's painstaking wordy descriptions of
Seymour's every single trait and every single feature.
Research into Marriage Penny Jordan 3
Residential Schools Melanie Florence 3
One criticism I have is the author writes as if Indigenous people
no longer participate in certain cultural practices which is
inaccurate. For example, the author uses the past tense when
discussing indigenous peoples' use of wild plants when in fact,
many indigenous people continue to gather local wild plants for
food and medicine today.
Saddle up for murder Leigh Hearon 3 Light and fluffy
Safe Harbour Kleinman 3
Scarecrow Returns Mathew Reilly 3 Lots of action
Second Chance Girl Susan Mallery 3
I didn't like this one as much as the others she's written in the
series. There are actually two romances going on at the same
time from all four perspectives. Sometimes it isn't clear who the
primary character is.
Secondhand Bride Linda Lael Miller 3 Enjoyed this book, I plan to read more in this series.

the Darkest Corner Liliana Hart 3
The Desert Kings Secret Heir Annie Wrst 3
Hard to imagine a modern woman being prepared to fill the
heroines role in an Eastern culture. For a romance there wasn't
much of one here. Any romance seemed incidental.
The Emily Carr Collection Emily Carr 3
While the stories were well written, they didn't hold my interest.
Partly because I prefer long stories vs short stories and partly
because the stories were very cut and dried. Having lived
among Native people I get what she was writing about. And
having grown up in a male dominated society, I appreciate Ms.
Carr's struggles. I was most intrigued by the fact that she
wrote so much when I have only known her for her paintings.
the ends of the earth robert goddard 3
The fallen Eric Van Lustbaden 3
The Family Lawyer James Patterson 3 Not his best work, disappointing
The Friends we Keep Susan Mallery 3 Good book, I learned a lot about myself by reading this.
The Grave Tattoo Val McDermid 3 Slow paced. Worth hanging in to the end

The Identicals Elin Hilderbrand 3
The Incest Diary anonymous 3
this is a harrowing and important book however I felt quite

about the triggering effect of the content.

the Temporary Mrs Marchetti Melanie Milburne 3
I liked this book and enjoyed the ending. It could have used
another chapter at the end to flesh the story out more though.
Then came you Jennifer Weiner 3

'Tis the Season Jennifer Gracen 3
Unlikely romance but steamy enough to take your mind off
reality.
Tricks For Free Seanan McGuire 3 Pretty good
Twisted Prey John Sandford 3 Just average detective story
Until there was Us Samantha Chase 3
Easy to get emotionally invested in this story. This is real life
after all.
W Is For Wasted Sue Grafton 3 O.K. summer "listen"
Wayfaring Stranger James Lee Burke 3
Who do you love Jennifer Weiner 3
With Malice Eileen Cook 3
A book about how social media can sway people's perceptions.
Also how friendships change and morph through tragedy and
the need to identifying feelings to see the truth.
Wrecked Carol Higgins Clark 3 A good read
A Fine Romance Candice Bergman 2
I neither wanted to read her husband love letters to her or hear
about her babies colic.
A Tale for the Time Being Ruth Ozeki 2 Not my favourite, I found it depressing
An Heir Made in the Marriage
Bed Anne Mather 2
Not up to this authors usual standards. It needed more plot and
character development, it could have been so much better.
Artemis Andy Weir 2
Big Sky River Linda Lael Miller 2
This was not one of my favourite reads. I disliked the plot and
having a young boy fall from a water tower and paralyze
himself really put me off. I don't read this type of book for
realism, just relaxation.
Big Sky Wedding Linda Lael Miller 2 Nice, easy read with minimal brainpower required.
Black Lies, Red Blood Kjell Eriksson 2
Contest Mathew Reilly 2 Science fiction, not my favourite
darkness before dawn ace collins 2
lots of parts to skip through as writing repetitive and
unnecessary
Evan can wait Rhys Bowen 2 no comparison to the molly murphy series
Fleshmarket Close Ian Rankin 2 Too "slow" for my taste
Frisky Business Tawna Fenske 2 predictable romance story, some humour
Grey E.L. James 2 Did not enjoy it... too complicated for my mind-age!!
Happy Days Laurent Graff 2
No idea how this ended--it went into an endless looping of the
same sentence x 3 tries. I gave up. Hard to tell whether
problem with MP3 itself or my Windows Media Player program
HIGH HEAT RICHARD CASTLE 2 NOT A FAN OF THIS WRITER.
His very Convenient Bride Sophie Pembroke 2
Unbelievable storyline, thought it would be more realistic than it
was.
ice hunt james rollins 2
It's in his Kiss Jill Shalvis 2
Not a light hearted romance. Female character dealing with
trauma from a rape.
Killing Johnny Fry Walter Mosley 2 Didn't finish
Legend of Russian Bill Richard Lapidus 2 Just not my type of book, but well written
Make me Lee Child 2
Nest of Vipers Jory Sherman 2
Each book read or not read is a matter of personal preference;
everyone has their own taste and what one likes another may
not.
Having said that; I didn't make it very far into this book.
An author has to have a writing style which flows; and/or
characters that draw me in.
I did not find this the case with this book.
Prisoner of Kelsey House V. J. Banis 2 Not usually my type of subject, but okay for a change
Rugged Texas Cowboy Lora Leigh 2
Not really sure how this two books in one qualifies as a cowboy
story. Near as i can tell there is next to no portrayal of cowboy
life or more importantly values. The second story was just plain
weird; I can't decide whether the author was trying for a
supernatural romance and then could commit at the last minute
or what.
Rugged Texas Cowboy Lora Leigh 2
Two in one romance. Not very well written. Plot for second book
is implausible.
Something borrowed, somone
dead M C Beaton 2
The Cast Danielle Steel 2 The story just plods along and is very predictable.
The Dream Lover Elizabeth Berg 2
Complicated flow in storyline and too much back and forth in
the time line
The Good Fight Danielle Steel 2
Danielle Steele stories are becoming boring and predictable. I
long for her style back in her beginning years where her stories
could make you weep with joy or sadness.
the Marriage Pact Linda Lael Miller 2
I liked the plot of this book. Little sister marries brothers best
friend is something everyone can relate to.
The measure of the moon Lisa Preston 2
She made the boys voice too young (audio book). Just didn't
like it
The Sunshine Sisters Jane Green 2
At times I found this novel to be quite slow, in fact I skipped
several full pages at different times throughout. The storyline
itself was interesting enough, but probably not a book I will be
recommending.
The Theory of Death Faye Kellerman 2
Good story but too much mathematics theory and analysis that
was very time-consuming and, I felt, didn't add to the story
line. Kellerman is usually better than this.
Too much Temptation Lori Foster 2 A fun read. I liked the plot.
When violence is the answer Tim Larkin 2 Very American, very current
WILD MAN CREEK ROBINCARR 2

Something Wicked This Way

Wished I had left it behind at the library--hated the torturous
dialogue and snail's pace of the unfolding plot. Best thing about
the book was the author's commentary of how he came to write
the book.
The Blind Man of Seville Robert Wilson 1
The body in the boudoir K Hall Page 1 too many materialistic allusions (USA)

Catharina Ingelman-

I just couldn't get into the book. Didn't care for the writing
style or subject matter. I have read this author before and
liked the book. I may have been interesting further on but the
beginning didn't hook me.
