FISHER‘N’CHIPS St. Dennis are todays visitors in the Charity Cup first

round, a competition that we have reached the final in and

also been semi-finalists twice.

The Cornwall F A invites to the competition all the South

West Peninsula One teams, and the winners or runners up

in both East Cornwall and Combination league.

Last time we played St. Dennis was in the Evely Cup final

at Helston at the end of last season where we were 2 -1

winners. This term the visitors have gained promotion to

the South West Peninsula League and are on a good run,

whilst we are struggling to replace the players who have

left. Although I am encouraged by the commitment and

effort the players have shown.

Like all clubs money to keep the club running is at a

premium, players are being asked for membership and

match subs in both first and second teams to help with

funding.

Anyone who would like to become Vice Presidents and

sponsor the club at any level would be most

welcome. Please contact me for further details if required.

Our season started off brilliantly with 2 wins and 1 draw in our first 3 games, beating Holsworthy 4-0, Callington 3-2 after being 2-0 down and a great point against a very good Godolphin side. After that, results have been up and down, losing Lee Bradd (Traveling) and several other players due to bad injury and suspension, left us no choice but to bring in a few of our 2nd team players and a couple from our veterans. We've been lucky enough to have someone at the club to bring in a bit of money to help expand our facilities, the clubhouse has been re-furbished, the pitch looks fantastic and plans for brand new changing rooms are in place. It’s been great to see a small village club achieve such success with very little and with the same players that have been at the club for several years. Overall it’s been a satisfactory season so far, having played 12 games, won 5, drew 2 and lost 5, we're sitting in a comfortable mid-table position and always looking to progress in the league as well as in today’s charity cup game.
