Peter Pan By J. M. Barrie Performance Dates: July 11*, 14*, 15*, 18*, 19, 20, 21, 26, 27, 28* (*matinees) Director: Carey Nicholson Audition Requirements: Auditionees are asked to perform a one minute (approx.) comedic/adventure monologue, and may be asked to do cold readings from the script. PDF script excerpts are available on the website. Some ensemble activities may also be included. Please dress appropriately for physical work. This production is adapted from the Oxford World Classics edition of J. M. Barrie – Peter Pan and Other Plays. Cast Requirements: 12 – 16 youth to adult, males and females required, able to play a range of ages and roles Featured Roles (youth – adult) Featured roles will likely retain one role through the play. Wendy – female youth/young adult John – male youth/young adult Michael – male youth/young adult Peter Pan – male youth/young adult Captain Hook – male young adult/adult Smee – young adult/adult J.M. Barrie – male young adult/adult Ensemble Roles (youth – adult) Ensemble will play muitiple roles and genders from the following groups: The Darling Family & Household Nana (a large Newfoundland dog and governess) – youth/young adult Mr. Darling – male young adult/adult Mrs. Darling - female young adult/adult Liza (a young tweenie maid) – female youth/young adult The Lost Boys, Pirates, Mermaids, Animals – youth to adult Important Dates Rehearsals: start mid April and are tentatively scheduled for Monday, Wednesday evenings and Sunday afternoons, with some weekday daytime rehearsals in late June & July. Tech Week: July 2 – 10 (exact dates TBC) Promotion Event: Sunday, July 1, afternoon. Matinee Performances: There are both weekend and weekday matinee performances.
