But before you graduate, you and your classmates deserve a senior experience like no other! The Senior Class at PHS continued the long es- tablished tradition of traveling to Walt Disney World for their Senior Class Trip. The students spent 5 days in Florida from April 6 through April 10. For many of the students, the trip is a learning experience in many ways. From learning how to budget funds and travel without their parents, the students were accompanied by teachers from the school to help students with the transition of not being in Pennsauken. The students enjoyed the wonders and sights of Walt Disney World. The students were greeted their first night with a Pizza and Pool party at the All-Star Sports Resort. The stu- dents spent their days enjoying the various attractions of: Space Moun- tain, Soarin’, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Kilimanjaro Safari, Mission Space, Pirates of the Caribbean, Expe- dition Everest, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coast, and It’s a Small World to name a few of the rides that the students enjoyed. However, the culminating event of the trip was Disney Grad Nite H2O. Disney Grad Nite H2O is an excit- ing, once-in-a-lifetime experience at Typhoon Lagoon at Walt Dis- ney World Resort where the stu- dents of Pennsauken were able to make a splash and create one final high school memory. Riding the waves, gliding down the lazy river and dancing the night away at the magical place made for celebrating their soon to be graduation from high school. The Senior Class would like to thank all of those that made this once in a lifetime trip possible. It was a great time had by all the students at the “Happiest place on Earth.” PHS Indians News Pennsauken Public Schools April 2017 Volume 1, Issue 8

On Thursday, April 13, 2017, Pennsauken High School held its Sixth Annual Junior College/Career Day. Over 75 volunteers visited PHS to speak to our juniors about their professions. The Junior College/Career Day had professionals speak about the following majors: Education, Science, Engineering, Medicine, Law, Criminal Justice, Communications, Services, Trades, Culinary Arts, Sports Management, Business, Art and Music, and Technology. Students were able to learn and to talk to successful people in various fields and gain valuable insights on possible post-graduate paths. Some of the guests for College and Career Day included a doctor, a lawyer, trades people, a photographer, a music producer, an FBI agent, and many more outstanding representatives in their chosen fields. Former NFL player and cur-

rent Comcast Sports broadcaster, Gary Cobb, was one of our es-teemed guests. Additionally, several dozen col-leges set up booths in our New Gym to recruit our juniors and to explain the college process. Repre-sentatives from Rowan University and Rutgers University gave a workshop on preparing for col-lege. Several alumni sacrificed their time to come back to PHS as well. Juniors were grateful to have this opportunity and our guests raved about the students! Many teachers, guidance counselors, administrators, and staff members contributed their time and expertise to this event. However, the accomplishments of the guests of Pennsauken High School will be the most im-portant information that the students take with them from this great event.
