AMY’S GRAN FONDO
Here are a few of the pre and post touring options that led Conde Nast Traveller Magazine to rank the Great Ocean Road as one of the world’s best coastal drives.
GREAT OCEAN ROADOfficially opened in 1932, the Great Ocean Road remains one of the most spectacular tourist drives in the world and was hand built by returned First World War soldiers and sailors in honour of their fallen mates.
A Memorial Arch and Diggers Statue at Eastern View before Lorne and the newly opened Great Ocean Road Story exhibition at the Lorne Visitor Centre provide a background to the Road becoming the world’s biggest war memorial.
GREAT OCEAN WALKThe Great Ocean Walk hugs the spectacular coastline from Apollo Bay to the Twelve Apostles. Engage your mind, body and soul as you weave your way through the Great Otway, and Port Campbell National Parks.
Each walk day is different and unique with nature’s drama unfolding at every step. Choose from a collection of breathtaking walks, traversing windswept cliffs, wetlands, rivers and rugged secluded, wild beaches.
You can stay on-track at hike-in campsites or opt for comfort and luxury stays nearby.
THE TWELVE APOSTLESWorld recognised icons the Twelve Apostles are set amongst the Port Campbell National Park near Port Campbell.
These giant rock stacks soar from the surging waters of the Southern Ocean and look fantastic at sunrise, sunset or even from the air in a helicopter.
WALKS AND WATERFALLSThere are many excellent walks easily accessible by car behind Lorne and Apollo Bay in the Great Otway National Park featuring powerful waterfalls in temperate, fern lined forest.
The Lorne Visitor Centre has maps of all the self guided walks and a waterfall self drive touring route.
BELLS BEACHWorld famous Bells Beach, located just 4 km from Torquay, is Australia’s most famous surfing beach and is home to the world’s longest running surfing event, the Rip Curl Pro Easter Classic.
WHALES AT WARRNAMBOOLAdmire these giants of the deep. Between June and September see Southern Right Whales nursing their calves just beyond the shore from Logans Beach viewing platforms. An awe inspiring experience.
DINING DESTINATIONS & FOOD TRAILSThe region is renowned for award-winning cool climate wines and high quality locally sourced food.
A trip to places Chris's Restaurant, the Otway Harvest Trail, 12 Apostles Gourmet Trail, Great Ocean Road Chocolaterie & Ice Creamery, Wye Beach Hotel, Great Ocean Road Brewhouse or Forrest Brewery can make a trip inland really worth your while.
GREAT TOURINGAN EXTENDED STAY ON THE GREAT OCEAN ROAD COULD PROVIDE A HIGHLIGHT FOR YOUR CONFERENCE THAT IS TALKED ABOUT FOR YEARS TO COME.

Torquay is renowned as a modern day surfing mecca and the birthplace of the Australian surf industry including globally recognised brands such as Rip Curl and Quiksilver.
Many other businesses from the surf or creative industries are crafting amazing things here. Manufacturers of cutting edge carbon fibre extreme sport knee braces, Olympic quality ski gear, titanium bicycles, along with producers of fresh roasted coffee and organic food choose this area for their headquarters. This melting pot of innovation and enthusiasm is sure to rub off on your delegates.
Two large branded conference venues in Torquay include Peppers The Sands Resort and RACV Torquay Resort along with the Torquay Tropicana Motel a smaller boutique venue.
Combined, Torquay’s conference meeting capacity is over 1,000 and can accommodate up to 300 delegates. The venues are ideal for groups of 50-200 and really know how to work with you to make your conference a seamless experience. There are many offsite options to choose from to add that special something. The Australian National Surfing Museum is a unique venue that allows your delegates to embrace Australian surf culture.
Located 10 minutes from Torquay is the Great Ocean Road Chocolaterie & Ice Creamery. The Chocolaterie is a great place to visit to watch the chocolatiers at work, or book an organised activity. A truly memorable experience for your delegates.
