Planning a Salon Interior Design: The EssentialsESSENTIAL TIPS AND ADVICE FOR DESIGNING AND PLANNING FOR YOUR SALON’S INTERIOR
Basics first
Test water pressure first. You need a minimum of 1.75 - 2.5 bar of water pressure. Consult with a local water company.
If you use mall-mounted processors or dryers, check your wall construction.
Put your wash area closest to the water and waste outlets. Use natural daylight as much as possible without invading your
clients' privacy. Best bet is to use the light from the top of your windows.
Styling area design
Make sure you have enough workspace. Styling unit positioning, working space of the stylist etc. To fit more clients into a tight space - consider using island styling units.
Darker upholstery is better against stains. If you would really like to use lighter colors add clear chair back covers
Use lights to create a beautiful atmosphere. Hang lights above each section and add wall-mounted lighting.
If you have a small salon - a nice trick is to have a mirrored wall to make it look more bigger.
Wash area design
Use partitions away from the bustle to make a more peaceful corner for your clients.
Hide the pipes with link units between wash sections. Minimum backwash to styling positions ratio is 1:3 The wash area needs the most attention when
designing a salon
Reception area design
A big part of salon design is placement. Use floor levels, plinths or colors to differentiate separate areas.
Avoid messes. Keep only essential items in your reception area. The first thing the clients see are the reception area.
Don't put your retail area behind the reception desk. Clients will have to talk to the receptionist to handle the products which might put them off.
Buying salon furniture
