A-ha Moment and Quote

My a-ha moment in this article was that students can create a podcast that can potentially reach a world-wide audience.

The quote I liked was, “Knowing that there is a real world audience gives students purpose and motivation to create a spectacular product.”

Creating is the Hardest Part of Podcasting

Producing and creating an actual podcast is the hardest part of the whole process.

Once that is done, it is ready to be easily downloaded by the listener.

You can have some podcasts downloaded automatically, much like having a newspaper delivered to your house every morning.

A-ha Moment and Quote

My a-ha moments in this article were all the stories about how the students were using podcasts for their education effectively.

The quote I liked was, “Imagine a busy commuting student preparing both mentally and intellectually by listening to a podcast on the way to school, then reinforcing it on the way home.

Every School Should Podcast

You’re publishing to a potentially vast audience and using technology that gives you feedback.

It’s a great way to distribute learning material that includes audio and visual.

It’s a good way to communicate. If someone misses something in class or in a newsletter, they can listen to the podcast.

How to Create It

All you have to do to create a podcast is record an audio of something and save to a sound file on your computer. Then, convert the sound file to an MP3 file. Then, edit the file and post it on the internet for all.

A-ha Moment and Quote

My a-ha moment was at the very beginning of the article because it describes an 11-year old girl creating podcasts and putting them on the internet.

The quote I liked was, “Podcasting has transformed our school. Kids are excited about and it’s opened new ways to communicate with others. Every school should be podcasting.”

Conclusion

Podcasting is a great way to reach students in class and most are excited because they get to use computers and other technology. Podcasting can create an awesome classroom experience and can help students advance their education. It is easy to use and create so all schools should start to use podcasting and take advantage of it to improve their students.
