By Katerina, Glen and Stephen

Today we want to…

• First we ask that everyone fills out the questionnaire.

• We will see a clip from the end of the Scottish referendum debate and create a discussion around it.

• Get creative and think about design solutions for involving people in politics.

• Make quick paper prototypes of designs for local engagement projects.

Scot. Referendum 2014 General Election 2010 EU Parliament 2014

The referendum had the highest turnout recorded from the past 60 years. It is an example of how referendums can generate more public engagement. We will show you a 5 minute clip from the end of the second referendum debate in

the hopes that it will spark a discussion about online behaviours during debates.

Please tweet your thoughts and feelings at #TELT throughout the clip.At the end of the clip answer the question from the back of your leaflet.

Percentage turnout for the Scottish referendum vs UK elections

• What did you feel most compelled to tweet about?

• Have you used social media before to express opinion during political debates?

• Is Twitter an appropriate platform to express opinion and start discussion?

• Which questions from the clip reflect your own feelings about the debate?

• Is the boy that states that Westminster led Britain in a war for oil being subjective or objective? Would you agree with him? What would be a reliable source of information to prove this point?

• How would you answer the first question from the public about sustaining political engagement?

Now lets generate some ideas.

Now lets generate some ideas.

Expand upon your idea and imagine an implementation to your solution that would be executed here in Dundee.
