Blankpaper Magazine is a format for a magazine that shows everytime a new perspective within two extremes. The perspective that crystalizes from the varied perceptions of people is translated into imagery with the ob-jective to blend these contrasts into a new concept. Cliches are broken.

The contrast between life and death

The concept and symtoms of death have gener-ated numerous scientific, legal and socially ac-ceptable term or euphenisms for death. Be-reft of life, a dead person is then a corpse, a body, a set of remains and finally a skeleton.

The word death comes from Old Englisch deao, which in turn comes from Proto-Germanic daupaz, this comes from the Proto-Indo-European stem dheu - meaning: “process, act, condition of dying”

Death is a commonly known word; our inspira-tion went beyond this definition. With a fas-cination for things that are “dead” but still live on, a translation was found into a fash-ion editorial based on transience and infinity.

Graphic patterns and toxic colors show us a contrast between organic and geometrical shapes. Fashion can be like toxic venum spread by com-mercial idea’s infecting originality and singularity. This idea is a trans-lated into an primal creature: the poisoned frog. This infectious ani-mal with his artificial colors and patterns has an attractive power that is translated into this editorial showing her beauty and her infectivity.

I once had a sweet little doll, dears,The prettiest doll in the world;

Her cheeks were so red and so white; dears,And her hair was so charmingly curled.

But I lost my poor little doll, dears,As I played in the heath one day;

And I cried for her more than a week, dears;But I never could find where she lay.

I found my poor little doll, dears,As I played in the heath one day:

Folks say she is terrible changed, dears,For her paint is all washed away,

And her arm trodden off by the cows, dears,And her hair not the least bit curled:

Yet for old sakes’ sake she is still, dears,The prettiest doll in the world.

The task of art is to transform what is continuously happening to us, to transform all these things into symbols, into music, into something which can last in man’s memory. That is our duty. If we don’t fulfill it, we feel unhappy.
