In the summer of 2013 Wan Ling started to work at UNIT Architects.
First of all she developed simple design proposals from the leading architects. From that she learned basic skills to work efficiently and how to work with a team.
Later on, gradually, she could get more responsibility to participated design and work more inde pendent-ly than before. It is constant to work overtime such as 12-14 hours per day, so it is a tough job. But she benefited from this work density to grow faster on the journey of architecture.
The following projects are parts of her work experi-ence.
UNIT ARCHITeCTS ( MIDDLe SIze)In the summer of 2013 Wan Ling graduated as a Bachelor Architect at the University of South China. The following years she worked as an architecturaldesigner and draftsman in UNIT Architects.
MILIY ARCHITeCTS ( SMALL SIze)From April to June of 2013, she got her internship. During this time, she learned how to participate work with others in a team.
TeMpORARY ReSIDeNCe USAIn 2011, she participated in a summerwork-travel program to USA to experience lives andculture abroad and practice english skills.
HANDDRAWINg ASSISTANT TeACHeRDuring study in university in 2010, she took ahand-drawing training and because of her drawingskills she get a chance to became an assistant teacherduring summer training.

With a team of two people we focused on the eco House exibition proposal. Based on the main goal to embody the eco concept we tried to create houses in harmony with its environment.
Based upon the orignal requiremtent from the client we put the houses on the site. This analysis shows that putting the volumes on ground will have twospacial disadvantages:
- The buildings affects environment too much.- Visitors lose the feeling of being in nature.
spacial Concept
-
Finally the concept is developed into volumes that are putted half underneath ground. This dissicion solves the spacial limitations into two new advantages:- The effects upon forest is reduced- Visitors have intimacy with nature.
Also functions are separated into a groundfloor program and a basement program. The eco House streamline flows on grondfloor and the exhibition streamline is connected in the basement
Final concept
-
The building is devided into two parts. One parts devided by floorlevel. The exhibition of eco technologies and concepts for houses are situated at the basement. They other of the trial hotel and eco houses are situated on ground floor.

When I started to join this project, it was the third phase of development. At that phase the basic masterplan was already set. Two high-rise building in the middle of the site are my responsibility to develop furthur.
These two building are twins with different func-tions. The function of building A is office and hotel and building B will be used for residential or office.
The hight of hign-rise buildings is 150m. So acoord-ing to their functions, elevators are set by different functions and areas as left analysises.
The following pages will show the developed floor-plans and sections.

According existed site limitation, parking place and river, setting this building along the river is a good choice. In this way people can get a nice view from this river. Because smaller volumes is more friendly for the natural environment so the roof is devided to five parts.
