Posion Summary: Bureau Chief of Networking & Systems Technologies for Buildings, Division of Real Estate Development and Management (REDM) The Bureau Chief of Networking & Systems Technologies for Buildings is responsible for leading the strategic integraon of exisng building automaon systems with the latest technology and providing the technical experse and vision necessary to modernize the Florida Facilies Pool (FFP). The Bureau Chief of Networking & Systems Technologies for Buildings is responsible for leading the strategic integration of existing building automation systems with the latest technology and providing the technical expertise and vision necessary to modernize the Florida Facilities Pool (FFP). The FFP is a real estate portfolio consisting of 110 buildings (12.3 million square feet) that span across the state of Florida. This is a hands-on technical position with direct responsibility for maintaining systems uptime, vendor management, and data reporting.

Pay Range:$75,000 – $90,000

Position Responsibilities:Specific responsibilities of the Bureau Chief of Networking & Systems Technologies for Buildings include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Lead REDM’s strategic modernization of the FFP by leveraging technology.

• Develop and implement a long-term, tactical integration of existing building systems with newer building automation systems across the FFP.

• Manage existing building automation systems’ architecture and integrity to minimize downtime and maximize functionality and interoperability.

• Provide technical leadership for installation, diagnosis, and repairs of all building controls and metering issues.

• Devise, implement, and review building control system designs/plans incorporating sequence of operations, integration with building automation /energy/building management systems from proposal, bid, or design build specifications.

• Work with all stakeholders in advancing long-term goals, ensuring consistent development and compliance with the overarching building system architecture plan.

• Participate in developing scopes of work and other competitive solicitation documents.

• Serve as a subject matter expert on building automation systems during competitive solicitations.

• Maintain and demonstrate knowledge of “best-in-class” building automation industry practices and trends.

• Provide project management assistance for large and small projects that impact the FFP.

• Ensure effective contract management for services and goods related to building automation systems.

• Effectively collaborate with vendors, facility managers, civil engineers, trade professionals, control technicians, project managers, and other stakeholders to efficiently identify and resolve system issues.

• Develop and lead the implementation of preventative maintenance schedules for all building automation systems.

• Serve as a member of REDM’s leadership team.

• Communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, with diverse audiences with varying levels of building automation systems knowledge.

• Ensure direct reports and their sections are supported and appropriately managed.

• Establish effective performance expectations and provide valuable performance feedback to ensure professional growth.

Candidate Profile Experience: Desired qualifications for the Bureau Chief of Networking & Systems Technologies for Buildings are the following:

• Minimum four years’ recent experience operating network monitoring and control systems;

• “Hands On” experience installing and troubleshooting systems and networks;

• Demonstrable technical experience with multiple control automation technologies (e.g. Apogee, Tridium Niagara), as well as fire safety, security, and energy metering systems;

• Proven track record at leading and training teams;

• Proven track record of providing exceptional internal and external customer service; and

• Professional experience communicating with senior or executive management as well as technical trades.

Education:

• A four-year degree from an accredited college or university is required. An advanced degree in information technology, information security, computer science, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, facilities management, or a related field is highly desirable.

• ISA certifications (e.g., Certified Automation Professional (CAP), Certified Control Systems Technician (CCST), Control Systems Engineer (CSE) are preferred.

• PMP certification is highly desired

Reporting Relationships:This position reports to the Deputy Director of REDM. This position supervises REDM’s Operations and Control Section and the Fire and Safety Section.
