Census Readiness Trainings
● Next wave of trainings will focus on taking deeper dives on census readiness:
1. DAY ONE: Census Operations○ Desire among CBOs for deeper knowledge on census nuts and bolts
2. DAY TWO: Digital Advocacy & Organizing ○ Hands-on digital tools training on campaign digital support guided by the
survey
● Three training sessions — two-days each
● Attendance at both Day One & Day Two for We Count LA grantee partners is required
a. Day One is open to non-funded community-based organizations as space permits

Day One Curriculum: Census Operations
Collaboration with NALEO will cover topics such as:
● Census operations timeline, schedule of mailings, self-response period and modalities, and NRFU
● Group quarters such as inmate populations, assisted living facilities and other group living situations
● The homeless count, counting young children in situations such as foster care and shared custody
● Review of key messaging and campaign toolkit usage

These sessions will cover the most critical workstreams for a successful GOTC campaign, diving deeper into personalized tactics like email, SMS, and door knocking to bolster outreach efforts.
We will cover the following:
● GOTC Digital Organizing 101 Recap
● Hands-on text-banking (SMS) demonstration and training
● Options and training for how to engage supporters via email and paid media
● Digital organizing tools (ActionBuilder) and tracking
