About US• Pratha foundation is a voluntary
organization (VO), Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), working for the holistic development of poorer communities focusing on care for elderly, destitute women and underprivileged children.
• Working in the rural & urban slums for the last 2 years.
• Collaborating with foreign donor agencies, corporate, national donor agencies both governmental and non-governmental towards making meaningful interventions for the cause of poor and needy sections of the society.

Child Development
• More than 400,000 Indian babies die every year from preventable causes within 24 hours of their birth.
• Targets underprivileged children who don’t have basic resources to sustain themselves.
• Carrying child development activities all over India.
Education• Mission Education is a national
level program from pratha Foundation which focuses on basic education for underprivileged children and youth.
• Educational initiatives includes:Crèche [0-3 yrs], Pre-school [3-6 yrs], Non Formal Education [6-14 yrs
non-school going] Remedial Education [6-14 yrs
school going], Bridge Course [14-18 yrs drop-
outs], Functional Literacy [18-45 yrs
women] Family Life Education for
adolescent girls.
Health Care
• Indian urban areas have less than 4% of government primary health care facilities.
• Pratha Foundation has initiated the Pratha on Wheels program.
• unique mobile hospital program that seeks to address problems of mobility, accessibility and availability of primary health care with a special focus on children and women, in urban slums and remote rural areas.
Providing Food• Pratha program embraced the
vision that “No child in India shall be deprived of education because of hunger“.
• Working towards tackling classroom hunger in association with the Government on the format of Public Private Partnership.
• There has been an upward surge in school enrolment and attendance of the children after mid-day meal Program.
