What is Spanglish? The Spanglish or Espanglish is a set of

dialects as varied as their communities of speakers.

According to L. F. Lara (2000), Spanglish is a mixture of Spanish and English similar to Portuñol and franglais between the respective languages.

Birth of Spanglish

The first signs of Spanglish date back to the late nineteenth century, immediately after the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo.

Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, Utah and California belonged to Mexico until it lost the war with USA.

All Spanish speakers were forced to become foreigners in their own land.

They were imposed English as the official language and prohibited from speaking Spanish.

As the villagers wanted to be part of the new system, or society, yet retain their identity, and that subsequent generations began to use words in English, but Spanish or phonetic pronunciation.

Espanglish. Today, Spanglish is widely used in both

languages, Spanish / English. The phenomenon of Spanglish is not

happening in a disorderly manner, but that seems to follow a pattern language.

Subsequent to the lexicon, phonological loans occur with or without referrals from Spanish morphological.
