5G & IoT challenges
With the rise of 5G, the market will force operators to launch many new products in a short TTM.
Operators need to open their network and service for SPs and enable them to provide self services with fast TTM and extreme flexibility

Partners do not have
reach to our customer
data and analytics.
bundling partners services
with the operator
services/products (ex: music
app + 2GB data for $2)
Exposing customer
analytics and
metadata to partners.
Attract more partners,
and encourage
personalization.
Selling isolated
partners’ services is not
appealing to customers.
Leverage the sale of
operator products.
Creation of bundles
requires the operator
collaboration, with long
TTM
- Give partners access to the
product catalogue to create
new products.
- B2B storefront for partners to
purchase wholesale services.
Leverage the wholesale
market.
Create numerous products
with short TTM
many partners many

user experience and
dissatisfaction
Partners to be able to
target the right segments

SP configures the IPs of its Application

The operator can benefit from the wholesale of 1000TB to Netflix, from the display of Netflix product to the its customers, and from a revenue share per purchase of
each product published by Netflix (example: could be 5% of the $2)

ex: per device type / per Geographical area / per shared account ….
Enterprises would have to refer to Operator
This will result in:
More Complexity for Operator to Support and Bill each Enterprise
Long Response Time for Enterprises
Long TTM for new IoT applications

Impact on TTM
16
• Technical readiness for introducing new
products will be dramatically reduced
• No impact on channels
• Testing time will be reduced since no more
development is needed on the applications
Conclusion and results
5G and IoT require high demand for new personalized services.
The operator does not have the capacity to “personalize” products for hundreds of customer segments, hence the need for onboarding external partners.
Alfa is on the correct path for having an “agile OSS/BSS” to enable personalization.
Number of products is expected to increase by 8 folds in the first year after implementing the sought architecture.
TTM for new products will be shorter.
Introduction of new verticals in alfa’s portfolio.
ARPU will increase as a result of creating new value from on-boarding partners.
Overall Customer satisfaction will increase as a result of targeting their needs in a timely manner.
