Dear Readers,
Greetings to you all…
The year 2020 has been a period of great stress and strain as the
COVID 19 pandemic dictated terms throwing the world into a topsy-
turvy. And sure enough, fear had its grip on everyone especially those
in the educational sector. We are now beginning to come to grip with
the reality and hope is in the air as the vaccines are on the way. The
children seem to be the happiest lot now as they eagerly await the
reopening of their schools so that they can be their true natural selves.
While the senior students are already back in the school, the others
now wait for their chance.
Even in these trying times, ABPS Awarpur has been a happening
place pulsating with activities catering to the needs of every stake
holder. It is said, ‘When the going gets tough, the tough gets going’.
And sure enough, everyone at ABPS Awarpur showed that toughness
and steely resolve by rising to the occasion and applying themselves to
the task on hand. As you read on, you will catch a few glimpses of the
happenings in the school that highlight how the school despite the
various challenges, took to the ‘New Normal’ as best as it could.
This E-Magazine is a medley of facts and figures coupled with raw
creativity from the contributors. It is hoped that every reader is
informed, uplifted and enlightened by reading it. Happy reading…
With Best Regards,

Relocating from the land of Lions and Peacocks to the
land of Snakes has been a great learning experience. As I jot
down a few lines for the magazine, a number of thoughts
emanate. The Board Examination date sheet has been
declared, the state government has asked the schools to
reopen for various classes and the pandemic is still prevailing
-what should the school management and the school do. Well,
keeping everything intact -the SOP’s, the state guidelines,
instructions from our management -classes have started in a
phased manner. The students who had been missing the
classes can be seen returning with great enthusiasm and are
keen to do offline learning now.
The staff is all geared up and ready to put in extra efforts
for the board classes and impatiently waiting for the other
classes to start so that the usual hub-hub of school activity can
be restored and the dull walls of the school can come back to
life again.
We wish the School Management, all our stake holders and
the staff of ABPS-Awarpur a fruitful and happy academic
year 2021-22.
Thank you and God Bless.

‘The fear of suffering is worse than the suffering itself.’ -Paulo Coelho
The world presently is going through a difficult phase, a testing time in the wake of the COVID -
19 pandemic and fear has its grip on every human being on planet earth. And we are all in one
way or the other pushed out of our comfort zones. But let this fear not frustrate us, limit us and
paralyze us.
Fear is said to be a survival mechanism of our mind as the mind wants us to be safe and secure.
However, it’s in the nature of human beings to overcome any obstacle that come our way. And
the history of man is replete with numerous examples of the survival struggles and triumphs of
man. One can overcome his fears by facing them as challenges and opportunities that wait for
us in our journey of life. When you resolve to face every experience you consider fearful, you
gain courage, strength and confidence.
It’s time to change our attitude towards fear. Let it warn us, but not paralyse us. Certainly, it’s
not the time to get stuck in a rut, but to try new things, explore new avenues and attempt the
seemingly impossible things. It’s time we use our fear of this pandemic as a springboard to
rise in our life, in the midst of its death dance. It’s time to evaluate the risks, take calculated
steps and move ahead in life. It’s when we accept the reality and take stock of the situation, new
ideas and inspirations come to us. Ironically, it’s the things that we most fear that will be the
most positive for our development and growth as it brings out the best in mankind.
The threat of this pandemic called covid-19 has also brought out the importance of spiritual
awakening. We have become too religious today and less spiritual. The world has been too fast
paced, too rash and reckless, too materialistic even to the point of destroying ourselves and the
environment. Can this threat then be a wake-up call for us? I believe it is so, and all spiritually
inclined will agree with me. Cravings and aspirations are good as they propel us forward, but
they have to be controlled and streamlined with the rhythm and flow of nature.
Well, slow down. It’s time we slow down a bit in our ruthless pursuit of materialism and revive
the finer human dispositions and values like care and concern for our fellow beings and the
environment. It’s a challenge for us to shed some of our own selfishness and greed. The time is
ripe for a change of perspective, the way we look at things. If we don’t heed to the call of the
universe, it has its own perfect ways of balancing everything, which might at times appear to us
as terrible and unjustified. But, that’s the way nature is!
Now, what do we do? Well, accept the reality as it is, find ways and means to overcome the threat
to the extent possible; and if not, be wise and willing to live with it. Every problem and every
struggle has its own place and importance in man’s life. Let us draw hope and inspiration from
those tireless souls who risk their own lives in finding a solution to the problem and bringing
solace to the affected and the afflicted. And hope is in the air as the vaccines are on its way. Let
us keep this hope alive and be resilient, adaptable and fearless while looking for new ideas and
opportunities to grow and evolve as human beings.

Gandagi Mukt Mera Gaon
The words of Mahatama Gandhi, “The future of India is in the hands of its villages,” and
that of Charan Singh, “The true India resides in its villages,” clearly bring out the role played by
villages in the development of our country India. Indian villages are extremely authentic,
beautiful and peaceful far from the hustle-bustle of cities. These small but strong communities are
the ones that form a strong base for the Indian economy and society. But the villages still face
various problems like illiteracy, poverty, lack of medical facility, etc. But the most important one
is sanitation. I firmly believe that the future of India depends on the villages. So, why not make
them clean, green, progressive and self-reliant which would give us a ‘clean-green Aatmanirbhar
India’?
Most of the villages and remote areas of India today have already been provided with toilets for
the residents under the ‘Swatch Bharat Abhiyan’ which has helped to maintain a clean
environment and surrounding and also reduced to some extent the number of diseases due to the
germs from open defecation. But sadly open defecation still continues in many parts.
For eliminating this problem, the government could establish bio-gas plants in the villages and
purchase the bio waste from the farmers or the dairy owners. In this way we could produce a
completely environment friendly fuel and moreover the by-product in the process can be turned
into manure and given free of cost to the farmers which in turn could be used in their farms
instead of the chemical fertilizers that take away the fertility of the field and lead to soil pollution.
This will make the villages cleaner and, in this way, people will go green.
Another problem faced by a large number of people in some areas is the lack of sewage facilities.
These sewage problems are due to lack of maintenance and the lethargic attitude shown by the
concerned authorities. These sewages are open in most of the villages which not only produce an
awful stench but also becomes home to many disease-causing insects like mosquitoes that may
lead to certain fatal diseases like dengue, cholera, malaria, etc.
In some villages, people throw their household waste in empty plot areas and in public places. In
such scenarios people should be taught how to dispose of their household waste properly without
making the surroundings dirty. People should be made aware about separating the biodegradable,
non-biodegradable and the e-waste.
The government keeps promoting various schemes to make the life of villagers easy, comfortable
and self-reliant like the ‘Swatch Bharat Abhiyan’ and other farmer promotional schemes. An
honest implementation of all these schemes with the massive participation by the people can only
improve the standard of life in villages in the truest sense. Well, in that sense, ‘Gandagi Mukt
Mera Gaon’ is a real possibility.

My Experience during lockdown at Awarpur
My experience during lockdown at Awarpur was one of the best
experiences of my life. After coming from Awarpur, I had planned a huge
birthday party at my grandparents’ house but I never knew that this would never
become a reality due to COVID-19 pandemic. But I often miss those beautiful
views and that mesmerizing weather of Shimla. Being confined to homes was
really a big deal for such a long time, but I enjoyed the virtual classes with all my
new teachers. But now I miss my school days and am eager to meet my new
friends and teachers. The Covid-19 situation has really made us experience the
value of food, immunity and hope. I even visited the Awarpur temple after its
reopening. I prayed to God that everything becomes normal as early as possible
and beat the effect of corona virus.

Go Green
Day and Night,
Let’s not quit the fight,
To do what is right,
To keep the trees in sight.
Day and night,
Let’s see what we can,
To make a better land to live in,
For all animals and man.
Day and Night,
We must keep in mind,
That earth is a place to live better,
Which will we never find.
Nirbhay Kumar, IV B.
STAND STRONG…
Life will challenge you till the last,
Make sure you don't give up fast!
People live on their illusions,
Mind not their conclusions.
They'll make you feel you’re good for nothing,
Show them with acts you’re good for everything.
When they hand you the badge of dishonour,
Mind not, but hold on to your true power.
They'll trap you and call you fake,
They'll make you fall by the words they speak,
Mend your flaws and aim for the crowning peak,
Seal your words, and let your action speak!
