SAVE WATER CAMPAIGN

School started working from 1st April for the academic year 2013-’14 after announcement of the results – 2012-’13. As first activity of its Social Concern, the school staff and students along with the residents of the UTCL went on a “Save Water Campaign” on 22nd April 2013 all around the colony by elevating the placards, banners and proclaimed slogan on the issue. Our Unit Head, Mr.GM Krishna flagged off the procession where many dignitaries of the UTCL witnessed the event.

Teachers’ Orientation Programme We organized a two day workshop on CCE for our teachers on 13th & 14th July-2013 by Shriram New Horizons, an empanelled agency by CBSE.

Parents Teachers Meeting We conducted Parents Teachers Meeting for all classes on 15th & 16th July-2013. School Chairman & Manager also addressed the gathering. More than 80% parents attended the meeting.

Independence Day Celebrated on 15-08-2013. Sri. G.M.Krishna, Unit Head was the Chief Guest, he received guard of honour from SPF, Security and NCC (Girls) Cadets and hoisted the National Flag and delivered inspiring speech about present scenario of the country and role of students.. School Magazine “Arunodaya 2012-13” was released by Shri G.M.Krishna and the first copy was received by Mrs Vasantha Krishna (President Vasundhara Ladies Club). Functional Heads, HODs and Parents witnessed the colourful cultural programme performed by children.

Teachers' Day Celebrated with great zeal and enthusiasm on 5th Sep-13. On this day, students dressed up like their teachers and taught their juniors the same way as their teachers do. Students organized funny games and cultural programme to entertain the teachers and ascertain the importance of the teachers in their lives.

Sports & Games In addition to regular Physical Education periods during school hours, we have evening games from 5:00pm to 6:00PM on all week days. This year our children will be taking-part in CBSE Cluster VII, Athletic Meet (Davengere), Volleyball (Tirupathi), Basketball Tournament (Visakhapatnam), South Zone Shuttle Badminton (Kottayam) and National Level Yoga Competition (Varanasi). 01-10-2013 – Conducted a programme during morning assembly to observe the death anniversary of Shri Aditya Vikram Birla. 02-10-2013 Gandhi Jayanthi Celebrated in School, Principal as well as students spoke about Gandhian principles. CBSE Cluster -VII Athletic Meet held at Davangere, our Students Kum. S Jayasri D/o S.Siva Ramulu (BSNL) secured Gold Medal in 800 mtrs race and Silver Medal in 400mtrs. Kum. P. Mythri D/o P.Sudharshan Reddy, (Dept. ER) secured Silver Medals in Long Jump and 200mtrs race and Mas. Akhilesh Mishra secured Bronze Medal in 1500mtrs race. * Kum. S.Jayasri and Kum. P.Mythri Participated in CBSE National Level Athletic Meet held at Varanasi from 19th December-2013 to 22nd December-2013 Our children participated in National Yoga Competition organized by CBSE at Ghazibad from 15th Dec -2013 to 17th Dec-2013. AP Formation Day Celebrations On the occasion of AP Formation day we conducted Anthyakshari competition for Classes V to X . Children actively took part in this competition. The feelings of unity and patriotism were marked among students. Children’s day celebrated on 14/11/2013, cultural programme and various games conducted for all classes. The School Management distributed toffees to children. We also celebrated the birth anniversary of Shri Aditya Vikram Birla on the same day.

Field trips for students to explore the world out: Field trips arranged for children of classes LKG to XII during October and November to various places like Bugga Ramalingeswara Temple, Aluru Kona. Yaganti, Mahanandi, Gandikota, Belum Caves, Nela Belum and Asvattham to enhance their knowledge about art, culture, history and religion. * A special trip for teachers alongwith families was also arranged to Yaganti on 14-12-2013. Road Safety activity in Assembly:- Our school has taken one step forward to instill and inculcate the road safety behaviour among students. On every Wednesday students perform small skits regarding valuable tips on Road Safety.

School Annual Day was Celebrated on 06/12/2013. Mr.G.M.Krishna, Unit Head was the Chief Guest of this Programme. Functional Heads , HODs and parents were present to grace the occasion. Principal presented the School Annual Report 2013-14 and highlighted the achievements of children in Curricular & Co- Curricular activities. Cash awards given to children who got CGPA-10 in Class-X Board Examinations and Class XII Topper. Children performed various cultural activities to showcase a glimpse of their talents and to entertain the audience. The Chief Guest gave away prizes to the academic toppers, sports champions and House championships in different fields. The other prizes had already been given away by Mrs. Vasantha Krishna, President, Vasundhara Ladies Club, Mrs. Bhavani Vasantha Rao, Mrs. Tharuna Jain and Mrs. Roopa Srinivasan in a specially conducted programme. Along with school staff, Unit Head and other FHs, HODs with families joined for a fellowship dinner after cultural programme.

The Aditya Birla Public School School Activities from Jan-2014 to March-2014

Jan-2014 Pongal festival was celebrated with joy and enthusiasm in the school. Teachers decorated school lobby with colours, toys flowers and traditional pots. A colorful Rangoli design was draped on the floor. It was mainly aimed to instill the traditional feeling among students and create a higher sense of respect towards our culture. Republic Day Celebrations The Day is celebrated with great enthusiasm and patriotism all over the country. It is the day when India became a Sovereign, Democratic and Republic country. Sri G.M. Krishna, Unit Head, delivered an inspiring speech and addressed every citizen, youth and children, who are the future of India. He also stressed on the importance of Indian history, freedom struggles and freedom fighters’ sacrifice for making India free from British rule.

Adieu to Class- XII – 2013-14

Farewell to Class-XII on 22nd Feb-2014, Class-XII students were bid farewell by teachers and class-XI students. Principal handed over the hall tickets . Students of class XII went down the memory lane and expressed their feelings about school, teachers and friends. Examinations

• Astronomy Olympiad – Journey to NASA (as online National Level Examination) was written by 17 student from various classes on 30th January-2014

• 2nd February 2014- NSTSE exam , conducted by Unified Council,

Hyderabad. Nearly 118 students appeared for that. The result is given below

• K.Akhila (Class-I) and C.Sathwika (Class-I) were the school toppers

• K.Meghana (Class-II), K.Abhiram (Class-IV), Navya Gupta (Class-VI)

and K.Pranitha (Class-VII) were the class toppers. All these students received Medals and Certificates for their meritorious achievement

• On 24th March, NCC girls appeared for NCC certificate exam.

• SA-II Exam conducted for all classes except class – XII in March.

• Announcement of results and issue of achievement cards to students

( except classes X & XII) were done on 27-3-2014. Save Water Campaign To redefine the success story of the Save Water Campaign conducted by the school, this year also as a matter of its Social Concern, the school staff and students along with the residents of the UTCL went on a “Save Water Campaign” on 22nd March 2014 coinciding the World Water Day, all around the colony. Students raised slogans by elevating placards, banners to create awareness about the precious water among the residents and family members. Our Unit Head, Mr.G.M.
