Mason City Recycling will no longer be picking up Forest City recycling as of August 6th. Beginning August 7 th , Forest City Street and Sanitation trucks will pick-up recycling using the following schedule - Residents living South of J Street will have recycling picked up on the 1 st and 3 rd Wednesday of the month. Those residents living on J Street (the North and South side) will have will have recycle picked up on the 2 nd and 4 th Wednesday of the month. Residents living North of J Street will have recycle picked up on the 2 nd and 4 th Wednesday of the month. “Don’t worry if you see recycling being picked up by a City garbage/dump truck. All recycling will be delivered to Mason City Recycling.” Says Mayor Barney Ruiter. Residents with questions can contact City Hall at 641-585-3574. About the City of Forest City The City of Forest City is located in Winnebago and Hancock County with a population of 4135 (2010 census). It is uniquely positioned on the Winnebago River just off I-35 and is home to Waldorf University, Winnebago Industries and 3M Distribution Plant.
