What was the first highlight of your career as a real estate professional in California?
The first highlight of my real estate career was learning that I passed my real estate licensing test in 1973. After passing my test, I had the op-portunity to work for a small land developer in Malibu in a three-person office looking out at the Pacific Ocean.
Was there an early experience that got you “hooked” on the real estate business?
My first milestone was working my very first weekend at the up desk as an official Realtor®. I received a call from a couple from Santa Monica and they were inquiring about a small add in the newspaper for a six-unit ocean view building priced at $125,000. I told them I could meet them at the property and show them the exterior only to see if they would have an interest. When I met them at the property, they immediately told me they liked it. With the help of my boss we wrote up a full-price cash offer and closed escrow in 30 days! Wow, did I ever think this business was fun!
How would you describe your personal approach and the unique services you offer?
Like many other agents, I am very passionate about the home selling and buying experience. With the process being a life changing event for clients – new home, new neighbors, new friends, new areas – my goal is to truly find a home that is special for our clients where they will create great memories with their families. My main focus in servicing our clients is to look out for their best interest and help them find the perfect home for their needs.
What are the biggest general trends in real estate at the start of 2016?
We are in a significant transition from the Baby Boomers and their wants and likes to the Millennials who are looking for a different life-style and their own identity.

The luxury market in South County is more coastal-driven and a broad base of areas such as Nellie Gail Ranch, San Juan Capistrano, and Coto de Caza to the east. All of these communities are in demand with the Baby Boomers downsizing and the younger buyers moving in and quite of-ten doing extensive remodels and updating.
What are buyers demanding from luxury homes these days?
In general, they like the new developments that have the design elements and living spaces conducive to indoor/outdoor living with “great room” concepts. They are looking for the “COOL FACTOR”, or a way to create it.
Which price points and architectural styles are seeing the most action right now in your area?
The general price points for our market is $1,500,000 to $2,500,000, and the contemporary, modern and Spanish designs are popular.
