IntroductionDuring the Teacher Professional Growth Plan (PGP) process, the principal must complete various steps within the Pinpoint Teacher Effectiveness module in order for teachers to continue to progress through their PGP. Both ACT and PCT teachers have similar agendas, however the ACT level includes an added Mid-Year Reflection of Practice and Additional Formal Observation as well.

The following process is meant to mesh with that in the Teacher Effectiveness Module Teacher Guide. It will show what steps must be taken by the principal in order for the teacher to complete the full PGP Process. Areas where the principal must actively complete a task are noted in this guide as an (Action Step).

Logging In (Action Step)To access the IPPAS website:

1. Type https://brevard.evaluate.pinpoint.hmhco.com in your web browser and click the Enter key.

2. Enter your pre-assigned username and password in the Log On screen.

3. To get back to the main agenda, do not use the back button (arrow). Instead, click Home.

PGP Pre-Conference The teacher will begin by completing a PGP Pre-Conference. This step is optional. The user can leave the field blank if no comments are included, however the user must click Submit in order to move forward.

PGP PlanningThe teacher will complete the PGP Planning by creating a Rationale, Professional Growth Plan Goal, and Outcome Measures & Reflections. The teacher will then add additional PGP Action Steps and optional comments.

2

PGP Development (Action Step)The administrator assigned to the teacher evaluation will then complete his/ her portion of the PGP review process.

• Review previous teacher steps by clicking View.

• Complete the PGP Development Review by clicking Begin.

• Complete the appropriate ratings.

• Click Save and Exit to save the answers currently entered and to return to complete later.

OR

• Click Submit to complete the submission process. NOTE: Once submitted, the process cannot be changed.

3

Mid-Year Reflection of Practice (ACT ONLY—Action Step)Only ACT teachers will complete the Midyear Reflection of Practice, and the administrator must complete the Administrator’s Reflection of Practice for these teachers.

Complete it by choosing the appropriate ranking for each of the dimensions (click through the dimensions listed on the left). Each dimension has sub-elements (ex: 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 2.1, 2.2)

• After clicking Submit, text boxes for comments will appear. Complete them (optional). Remember, you must click Submit to move onto the next step.

• After the teacher completes the Formal Observation Pre-Conference notes, and a conference occurs, the principal must complete the observation.

4

Formal Observation 1 (Action Step)The Formal Observation measures teacher performance, and it focuses on the specific Rubric Elements.

• Click Begin under Formal Observation Classroom Observation

• Complete the steps through the process.

• Click either Narrative (and follow instructions under Notes box) or Quick Notes for a shorter note.

• The instructions for how to add a note are listed below the Notes box.

• Be sure to click the appropriate dimension on the right side. Hover over the icon next to the dimension number for a description.

5

Evidence, artifacts, and private notes can also be added. Instructions for these additions can be found in the teacher user guide.

The Post-Conference must be completed, however notes are optional.

6

Mid-Year Conference (Action Step)Mid-year Conference Notes are optional; however the conference must be conducted.

End-of-Year Assessment of Practice (Action Step)The teacher will complete his/her End of Year Assessment of Practice. The administrator will then complete the ratings for the dimensions. This is the same process as done earlier in the Mid Year Reflection of Practice.

Formal Observation 2 (ACT ONLY) (Action Step)Formal Observation 2 (ACT Only) is the same process as the earlier Formal Observation 1.

PGP Implementation Scoring (Action Step)PGP Implementation Scoring is completed after the teacher completes his/her part. This is the same step as in the Mid Year Reflection of Practice Administrator’s Reflection of Practice.

7

CMA SCORINGThe teacher will submit CMA reviews for selected team members. Once completed, those results will show up in each teacher’s CMA for viewing (scores only, not names).

SUMMATIVE 1 (Action Step)The SUMMATIVE 1 process begins with a conference with the administrator. Together, the score report will be reviewed.

The principal will then complete a teacher conference about the SUMMATIVE 1 Score Sheet.

Below is an example of a completed score report:

8

• Both the teacher and principal will sign and date this document.

• After a conference, click Submit to complete this form.

• The teacher may choose to include a rebuttal (optional).

9

SUMMATIVE 2 (Action Step)For the Summative 2 portion, scores will automatically and manually be uploaded into the system. Once the following scores are uploaded and inputted, click Submit.

• At this stage, the principal and teacher will conduct a final conference to discuss the teacher’s progress over the year.

10

Below is an example of the final report. Note that VAM scores were NOT entered into this report leaving some scores blank therefore rendering the teacher at an unsatisfactory level.

• Both the teacher and principal will sign and date this form as well. Click Submit to complete this process.

• Again, the teacher has the opportunity for a rebuttal. This is the same process as before.

At this time, the PGP process is complete.
