RM Biltrite® Tuff Trac® ESD Matting is engineered to protect personnel, equipment, and products from harmful electrostatic discharge caused by accidental contact, short-circuiting, or dielectric breakdown. Unguarded electrostatic discharge can lead to hazardous sparks, fire, and greater damage. ESD Matting also provides anti-fatigue properties. Available in two types:

Single Layer ESD Matting: Manufactured with a proprietary mixture of polymers and homogeneously dispersed migratory anti-static components. The polymers decrease dissipation speed, while the anti-static components continually migrate to the surface. Single Layer ESD Matting has high hydrophilic properties, ensuring a micro-thin surface layer of water to assist with the flow of static charge. Matting delivers an electrical resistance of 108 -109.

Dual Layer ESD Matting: Manufactured by permanently bonding Single Layer ESD Matting to a 6 mm conductive PVC backside layer. This bonding process produces an improved electrical rating of 106 -108, making the matting surface less hydrophilic and less dependent on room humidity.

Physical Properties: ASTM basic requirements for physical properties are based on values obtained from standard laboratory test specimens prepared and tested in accordance with the applicable ASTM test methods. Test results from specimens prepared from finished products may not duplicate values obtained from standard test specimens. TUFF TRAC® MASS LOADED VINYL - .05 LB, .75 LB, 1.0 LB, 1.5 LB, 2.0 LB

RM Biltrite® Tuff Trac® Mass Loaded Vinyl (MLV) provides excellent, reliable noise reduction by actively blocking sound wave transmission. RM Biltrite® manufactures MLV from a specialized combination of acoustical PVC plastic and inert material, a safer and more viable product than traditional lead-based soundproof sheeting.

Tuff Trac® MLV is highly flexible and well-suited for a variety of applications in the automotive, industrial, and construction industries. It is easy to install and can be stapled, screwed, nailed, or hung (using reinforcement grommets) behind ceilings, walls, flooring, and more. RM Biltrite® manufactures all MLV barrier products to meet Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 302 (FMVSS 302) specifications for fire safety. MLV is available in 0.50 lb, 0.75 lb, 1.00 lb, 1.50 lb, and 2.00 lb weights.

Tuff Trac® MLV products can be customized with additional, application-specific layers. Cloth reinforcement is available for increased tensile strength, crucial for securely hanging with grommets. For outdoor and temperature-sensitive areas, MLV can be applied with a Mylar polyester film layer to improve reflectivity and heat resistance. A clear film layer can also be applied to prevent accidental plasticizer migration.
