FSW and Literacy Volunteers Stamford/Greenwich Inc. are recipients of the prestigious Microsoft Elevate America Community Initiative Grant. This award funds Project WIN (Women in Network) an innovative 21 st century technology skills training initiative, designed to address the local needs for a technologically skilled workforce. Our partnership with Literacy Volunteers will provide women with a unique combination of technology skills training, coaching, and mentoring to build technology based work skills, meet certification standards, and prepare women for employment in high-demand/high paying jobs. Project WIN is intended to prepare lower-income women to compete in our highly complex and thriving business climate. Through training, coaching and mentoring, Project WIN will address the work-readiness needs of women by preparing them to receive nationally recognized certifications in Customer Service, Microsoft Office and Computer Technology (IC3, Strata, and Comp TIA).
