PROTECT YOUR PRODUCT WITH INGRESS PROTECTION (IP) TESTING FROM THE ELEMENTS Ingress protection testing is used to determine if a product’s exterior case or enclosure will protect the working parts from water, dust or intrusion. When foreign particles get inside a product, they can cause damage and poor performance. Ingress protection testing, or IP testing, should be performed at an accredited test laboratory. Selecting and testing to an IP Rating establishes the level of protection you want your products to feature. IP Ratings are called out in the test standard known as IEC 60529 The protection rating is displayed by the letters “IP” followed by two numbers. PROTECT YOUR PRODUCT

WITH INGRESS PROTECTION (IP) TESTINGFROM THE ELEMENTS

Ingress protection testing is used to determine if a product’s exterior case or enclosure will protect the working parts from water, dust or intrusion. When foreign particles get

inside a product, they can cause damage and poor performance.

The first digit indicates the level of protection from solid ingress and the second digit represents the level of protection from liquid ingress.
