ProWORX 32 is still compatible with all of the same CPU’sas ProWORX Plus and ProWORX NxT. But ProWORX 32offers something the others didn’t: the power, speed andperformance of 32-bit processing to utilize today’s modernoperating systems.

Thanks to the 32-bit Windows environment, serial communicationsis now more reliable than ever. The old issues of synchronizationwhen running ProWORX NxT and using serial communication isnow a thing of the past, making ProWORX 32 a great performeracross Windows 98, NT, 2000, ME and XP operating systems.

ProWORX 32 has been designed for the power of today’s modernPC’s to deliver new capabilities and unrivaled usability. With morespeed and greater memory, ProWORX 32 has been re-engineeredinto a high performance, high productivity tool.

Using standard Microsoft components for the basis of ProWORX 32opens up a wealth of user data. Import and export capabilities havebeen enhanced to provide a variety of integration options for HMIand third party devices, such as a built in “Alliance Tool” whichallows users to create hardware profiles for newly developeddevices. The profiles can even be sent electronically to SchneiderElectric for inclusion in future product releases.

Addressing the needs of users in terms of the look and feel of aproduct has always been a challenge, so we designed a newcustomizable interface to give the user what they want - a wealthof visual information that they can customize to suit their individualneeds. And for navigation, a simple click of the mouse gets youfrom project to project or property to property. In the development of ProWORX 32, we considered verycarefully what our users would need to improve theirproductivity and product performance, then designed theminto the offer, and included them all at no extra cost!

ProWORX 32 allows projects to be developed in a collaborativeenvironment without sacrificing control and security by utilizing theProWORX 32 server as the central repository for projects, thecenter for security, and the hub for communications. The systemadministrator has total control over user accounts, user groups,passwords, rights, and auditing policies and can grant accesswhen and where needed.

The client/server relationship allows projects to be skillfully man-aged and controlled. The server can be used to keep “Master”versions of PLC projects for editing (subject to rights), while editingis achieved using the client. This can be done via a standalone PCor even on the server since both client and server can reside onthe same PC.

The server has the capability to schedule software backups of thecontroller, detect software modifications and store multiple versions.Even more powerful is the ability to communicate from the client tothe server using either Ethernet TCP/IP or Modbus Plus.

The project emulator is a very powerful tool that will help saveconsiderable time in the design and testing of your system. Itprovides the ability to test projects prior to running them in thePLC run-time environment to ensure your system will run at peakefficiency immediately upon commissioning. Two emulators areprovided to test interdependent projects with one another, givingyou complete confidence and peace of mind before going live.They are also very effective in testing communication activities suchas I/O scanning and monitoring network activity between projects.
