What is Subject-Based Banding (SBB)?
• Pupils do subjects at the levels that best meet their abilities study subjects they are strong in to the highest level possible
• Subjects are offered at Standard and Foundation levels
• It is NOT INTENDED to provide a softer option
At the end of P4…
• School makes recommendation for a subject combination– Pass mark – 50 marks
– Teachers’ recommendation
– Importance of EL & Maths
• Parents have the optionto accept the school’s recommendation or proceed with their own choice
