• A sustainable living requires the use of sustainable energy. This involves the use of power in such a way that it fulfills the requirements of the present without compromising the requirements of the future.

starting from 21st century , the society is in fear of lacking energy from nonrenewable energy sources in a few decades of years. So the developing cities & towns requiring huge amount of power are tending towards the renewable energy resources.

This means that the energy source must be renewable, and must not harm the environment or the people working under it. The most commonly used renewable sources of energy are: biomass, water, geothermal, wind, and solar

One among the field like Public gardens ,which increases beauty of the cities & towns are also consuming more power for their lighting systems and other needfuls. One of the important factor to be considered in the mantainance of public gardens is to utilise the power in efficient way.

SOLAR TRACKING• A solar tracker is a device that orients a

payload toward the sun. Payloads can be photovoltaic panels, reflectors, lenses or other optical devices.

SOLAR TRACKING SYSTEM

• Sunlight has two components, the "direct beam" that carries about 90% of the solar energy, and the "diffuse sunlight" that carries the remainder. As the majority of the energy is in the direct beam, maximizing collection requires the sun to be visible to the panels as long as possible.

• So with the use Solar Tracking system maximum power can be extracted from the sun light.

HARDWARE REQUIREMENT

• 8051/PIC Micro Controller• Solar Panel (for prototype Around

5W)• Relay and Driver Circuit• LDR • Stepper / Geared motor ( 12v)• Battery (6V / 12V)

FEATURES• Solar panel is going to track the light intensity

based on the LDR.• Based on light intensity & time garden lamps are

going to switch on/off.

SCOPE• project mainly aims at the automation of the

public garden to avoid wastage of resources.

APPLICATIONS

• This small scale project can be implemented in any public garden with minimum cost and resources.

• This helps in proper utilization of the available resources and helps in avoiding wastage of electricity.
