1. Fully extend the telescopic aerial, connect the mains adapter and plug in to your powersupply or fit six size C batteries or a ChargePAK.

2. Press the Standby button, if necessary, to switch the radio on. An autotune finds theDAB stations available in your area and selects one.

3. Turn the dial to adjust the volume if required.

. Press the Stations button and turn the dial to see all the DAB stations available andpush to change to another station.

5. Push the DAB/FM button to listen to FM stations.

Changing the information shown on screenOnly the first two options are also available in FM. You can also access these choices bypressing the Menu button and selecting the Info display option.

Scrolling text Broadcast by most DAB stations and FM stations with RDS data.

Time and date Updated regularly from the current/most recent DAB multiplex.

Programme type Type of DAB content being broadcast e.g. Sport, Pop music.Sig. strength DAB signal strength; maximum 16 bars.

Sig. quality DAB signal quality; 85 to 100 Good, 70 to 84 OK, 0 to 69 poor.

Bit rate DAB signal data rate and a stereo or mono indicator.

ntellitext - news, sports and morentellitext* provides on-demand text information such as sports headlines and news. The text isstored in your radio while you listen to stations and is updated by the broadcasters. Intellitext isisted by station and split into categories. For example, the broadcaster may send information onootball, Cricket, Headlines etc.

hen your radio is on, Intellitext will only appear for stations that you have been tuned to for ahile. While your radio is in standby it will collect updates (from the last station from which youviewed Intellitext) ready for when you next switch on.

Set timeout Delete Intellitext after 1 week (default) or 1 day.Clear all Deletes Intellitext immediately.

etting a sleep timerYou can set a sleep timer after which your radio will switch itself into standby mode.

1. Press the Timer button and turn and push the dial to choose the Sleep timer option.

2. Turn the dial and push to select 15, 30, 45, 60 or 90 minutes or Sleep off to set nosleep time. You will see the Timer icon displayed on screen.

Return to the Sleep timer menu to view the time remaining until your radio will switch off, tochange the sleep time or cancel the sleep timer. Press and hold the Timer button to reset allkitchen and sleep timers.

etting a kitchen timerYou can set a countdown timer which will sound an alarm after a period.

1. Press the Timer button and push the dial to choose the Kitchen timer option.

2. Turn the dial to change the hours , push and turn again to change the minutes and pushagain to confirm.

The timer is now set, you see the Timer icon on screen and the alarm will sound after theperiod you have set. To view the time remaining select the Kitchen timer option again. Tocancel the timer before it goes off, set the time back to zero or press and hold the Timerbutton to reset all kitchen and sleep timers. When the timer alarm goes off you can cancel thealarm by pressing any button.

se the PURE ChargePAK C6x rechargeable battery pack. When charge is low the battery iconflashes. ote Always disconnect the radio from mains power supply before fitting or removing aChargePAK or batteries, your settings will be retained.

Using a ChargePAKChargePAK is a rechargeable battery pack which plugs into the socket in your radios batterycompartment. Whenever your radio is connected to a mains supply the ChargePAK will becharging. When charging a ChargePAK the battery icon will be animated and when fullycharged the icon disappears. A complete charge should take around 10 hours in standby.

Changing your radio setup

The following options are available in DAB, FM or both.

BacklightChoose whether the screen backlight is on, off, or turns on when a button is pressed, both

when the unit is on (Active) and in Standby.DRC valueDRC (Dynamic Range Control) value makes the quieter sounds in a DAB broadcast easier tohear at low volume or in a noisy environment. Check with the broadcasters to find out if theyuse DRC.

DRC full Applies the DRC level as sent with the broadcast.DRC half DRC level is set to half that sent with the broadcast.DRC off Any DRC level broadcast will be ignored.

Station OrderAlphanumeric Lists all stations in alphanumeric order.Active station Lists active stations first on the station list.Multiplex Lists stations in groups according to their multiplex.

Trim stn. list Removes inactive stations from the station list.

AutotuneScans all DAB Band III frequencies for stations and adds any new ones to the station list. Tostop an Autotune press the dial.

FM tuning modeChanges how you tune from one station to another.Seek Tune Automatically searches for the next FM station with a strong signal.Manual Tune Lets you manually step through the frequency range in steps of 0.05 MHz.

FM stereo modeChanges between stereo and mono reception - mono may be clearer for stations with weaksignals.

UpgradeUpgrade your radio using a PC connected to the USB socket. Upgrades may be issued toprovide enhanced functions or improve performance. The version number of your radio isdisplayed on the top line.
