• Q88.com is primarily a tanker questionnaire generator by means of a website. 

• As tanker owners are aware, creating vessel questionnaires is a daunting task that, most times, has to be completed quickly and accurately on current and ever changing formats of charterers and oil terminals questionnaires in order to conclude a fixture. 

• Many parties need access to the details in order to ensure the ship specifications meet the requirement of the trade and vetting criteria of the charterer, supplier and receiver. 

• Until now, this process has been time consuming and inaccurate.

• Q88.com allows tanker owners/managers to quickly and accurately fill out and distribute Oil Company and Terminal questionnaires on-line. 

• The information on a particular tanker is only entered once and is re-used to generate as many as 235 different questionnaires.

• On INTERTANKO’s initiative, INTERTANKO and Q88.com have engaged in a co-operation to maximize the potential of the Q88.com concept

• This co-operation will give INTERTANKO’s Membership greater benefits through an integration of Q88.com into INTERTANKO’s range of services to members and non-members.

• Q88.com creates questionnaires faster and more accurately than it is possible to do manually and with most in-house systems.

• Questionnaires are linked to the OCIMF HVPQ data so the vast majority  of the answers are filled in automatically. Q88.com has a built in alert system for expired certificates and approvals.

• There is a standard format for filling in each questionnaire.   Subscribers have access on a global basis, 24 hours a day. Subscribers have access to the latest questionnaires which is currently over 235).

• Q88.com is developing the ability for subscribers to transmit the questionnaires directly into the issuing company’s database systems.

• Q88.com is XML-enabled which means that the questionnaires and the data behind it can be easily be integrated with the subscribers’ and their customers’ IT systems.

• Completed questionnaires can be sent via email or fax directly from the web site. They can also be downloaded to a user’s computer or posted on the web site where third parties can access them via a password-protected login.

The Next Stage

• Q88.com holds the potential of being developed into a standard platform for exchange of information in the tanker

industry. 

• Of the various tools available to the tanker industry, Q88.com is the only one that currently holds the potential for been developed into a standard tool for tanker information

exchange. 

• Other segments of industry are working to develop similar tools, most notably OCIMF, but the concern is that there will be no means for the ship-owner to influence the information

contained in and the management and operation of an oil company controlled vehicle.

where it would find a natural home as an exceptionally useful tool for tanker owners.
