The Al Mashaaer Al Mugaddassah Metro Project (MMMP) consists of 18 km long OCS metro line

connecting the Holy areas of Mecca, Arafat, Muzdalifah and Mina, consisting of two main 110kv

substations and 9 passenger stations, 3 Emergency evacuation points and a huge depot.

The Railway line mainly on viaduct China Railway Construction Corporation was responsible for

infrastructure construction and systems integration under phase I contract which was awarded by the

Saudi Arabian government in February 2009

.

The line provides transport for about 3.5 million people who arrive at Mecca annually to perform

Hajj. The number is expected to increase to five million in future.

The project has completed in Hajj 2011 and successfully operated for 05 Hajj operation from 2010 to

2014 (Oct). Hajj 2014 was successfully completed with 116% average delivery of passengers in 05

movements without major or minor accidents and faults affecting operations.

RAIL SYSTM DESIGN CONSULTANT was ATKINS

� Being the Power Engineer (Rail System Coordination Engineer) of the prestigious Makkah

Metro Project, To coordinate with Ministry (MOMRA) and Saudi Electricity Company,

consultant DAR/DBI for the document approvals and coordinate Site inspection and witness for

T&C work and getting approval.

� As Rail System Coordination Eng. I am more involved in, Planning and execution of the project

works.

� Oversee all TPS , OCS and Rail System activities regarding installation T&C and maintenance

work Include 110 KV Substations on-site project activity to ensure projects are completed on

schedule, within budget, and in accordance with engineering design and maintained according

to recommend procedures.

� Coordination between Rail system, Civil, MEP and Saudi Electricity Company.

� Regular site visits and Generate weekly monthly reports.

� Close coordination with Client, consultant and other stakeholders.

� Actively participated in testing and commissioning of power supply equipment along with

DBI Engineers during the trail run of first ever metro train in KSA MAKKAH (Aug 2010).

� Participation in Task force meeting with MOMRA engineer and DBI enginner to discuss the

pending issues and progress made related to SCADA, power distribution system, power rail,

UPS, Battery charger etc, and defect liability issues.

� Supervising the installation & testing and commissioning (EPC Contractor side) for site works

supervision for 110 KV main power substations Arafat and MINA

� Monitor, verify, and document the work being performed through Power Supply System

contractor, Siemens AG. Scope Includes construction of two 110 KV, GIS Substations, 14 no’s

13.8 KV- Substations and 11 DC Substations.

� Attend and participate in all project planning and coordination meetings.

� To ensure proper implementation of Project Technical Specification on site.

� Provide technical assistance to the construction team as needed.

� Monitor adherence to schedule and budget, initiate and implement corrective action if

required.

� Frequent auditing of the Communication plan to identify stakeholders and proper distribution

of the information.

� Performance reporting to the higher management. Performing the earned value analysis.

Duration : May 14, 2007 to June 2009.

The Construction of 57.4Km single box, double and single-track glue joint segmental viaduct,

internally post tensioned, 12.3Km tunnel and 40 number at grade, underground and elevated stations.

The 15800 segment viaduct will be constructed in approx 1400 spans.

The spans are constructed in balance cantilever method and simply supported span-by-span method.

Eight Overhead Launching Girders, designed by Deal of Italy and six static and mobile travellers for

the balance cantilever are used for this project.

� Liaison with consultant and Contractor for all aspects of design, detailing of all installation

work related Rail system.

� Establishing and maintaining a positive consultant/contractor relationship.

� Identification and notification of possible claim situations .

� Assist Planning and programming department for the ongoing works .
