Welcome to this next episode of The Beloved Miracles Couples Project.

Today we’re reaching from Norway to Golden Shores area in Arizona USA.

Hi Cheryl and Josh. Hi! How’s it going guys!

Cheryl and Josh Chavez are with Quantum Marketing and are implementing asystem empowering others with what they call the Business Warrior Ways. Soguys…where does your story begin?

Well, we’ve been married for over 11 years and when we first got married weknew somehow we wanted to just be entrepreneurs together. So we’vestruggled and struggled and tried all sorts of stuff. We knew that we needed tofigure out how the internet worked, and how to do online marketing.

1:03 So luckily technology keeps getting better and better, and there aresystems out there that really train you so that you are clear and focused onyour directive. It helps expand your business so much quicker and faster andsmoother with less stress. So…that is our thing, and that is what we do, andthat’s what we teach.

It is just fantastic with the information that’s available to us now.

I’m loving what you’re calling it and what you’re doing there, Business WarriorWays. So I hope you’ll share the story behind that as well.

1:41 Oh yeah, definitely! Cheryl and I have done pretty much everything fromdigging in diesel trenches to driving semi trucks to working in Dental Offices,Law Offices, Courts. We pretty much done a very wide spectrum ofbusinesses, so… I would say through all those years we have gained a lot ofknowledge to be able to share with people.

Ironically enough, through all of our job experiences both of us separately, attwo different job locations always tended to be the person that everybodywould come to, to make things more proficient, more organized, more on justto work better and easier. Unfortunately for us, we found ourselves organizingourselves right out of jobs.

2:42 We made it so proficient that several people including ourselves ended upbeing laid off. Because we’ve made places paperless, we have made thingsmore proficient; and I just last two weeks ago, finally retired from working as aLibrarian. And everybody kept coming to me for business advice. They startedasking me, so this is what all librarians do. I’m like, ‘no, that’s just me. I’m like,okay, I gotta really work for myself. We really have to do this! We do haveknowledge here, so we’ve been able to take what we have learned and reallyhelp hone in businesses to get better and more proficient.

3:24 And so, with that kind of going through a mind meditation and reallygetting crystal clear on… the system’s really helped us get really crystal clearon who our ideal clients are. And I just literally just had a dream and woke upand grab my little notebook thing, I was like, Business Warrior Ways. This iswhat we do! And it just all clicked and made sense.




3:52 So we’re really excited because it’s just everything that we’ve done for thelast 10 years so… and it’s just getting better and better. And in watching thesebusinesses over all these years of all the failures and triumphs and everything;we really need… my focus alone is to bring people back into business. Notallowing the business to run the person, but the person to actually run thebusiness.

4:21 And to be able to care for their customers.

And that’s one of the focuses, I have instead of customer appreciation, orcustomer satisfaction. I actually call it customer care. Because we have to takecare of those customers, take care of those clients, cause if we don’t havethose we don’t have what we do.

4:41 Yeah, right…so it’s almost more focused on what someone can receiverather than what it is we’re actually giving them.




Exactly, exactly. I mean company I’ve been working for the last year and a halfI say it pretty much has been given pro bono work. Hahaha. I’ve gained a lotmore knowledge by doing that and a lot more experience from doing that. AndI’ve have been able to feel the hardships of when people don’t listen and whenpeople don’t react and use the actions and tools that you’re handing them.

5:20 And seeing the light in people when they do use those tools and do usethose actions to work smarter not harder. That’s our big thing is work smarterand not harder. And if you have teams out there that just don’t care and they’rejust showing up for a paycheck. They are in the wrong mindset for yourbusiness. It is just not going to move forward with that kind of mindset. Youhave to really give value to your customers and care about them, andeverything else just kinda snowballs into just a beautiful result that takes you toa higher standard of business.

6:00 So you guys described it really well like a system truly is the leverage,right? It’s the leverage that allows us to do less but actually have a greaterresult from that less input effort if that system is in equilibrium and is balancedand working. Where did you guys first start to notice a system at play andwhat a change for you and those around you.

6:32 Wow…for us we, you know through David Wood and William Wood, andgetting ourselves some mentors that really helped us focus our energy anddirection. And actually, just wake up and realize that we need to build our skillsand then it just doesn’t stop after school going, “okay, I’m done with school. Idon’t have to educate myself any further. I just need to do”.

It doesn’t work that way. You have to continuously… and we know we willcontinuously be educating ourselves for the rest of our lives. Just getting betterand sharpening our skills.




7:13 So, David Wood introduced me to reading again and so I got back intoreading some powerful books. The Science of Getting Rich. Which right nowwe’re doing a study with William Wood every single day through the week.

And just to be able to understand the science and the logic and our ownabilities of our thought process and how things actually do work. It’s justincredible, and people around us can’t put their finger on it. But they can seethere’s something different about us. The words we use, the way we justpresent ourselves. They just… they can’t figure it out and it’s just more andmore aware to us the more we learn and the better we get more people justkinda come around us and just sit there and watch.

8:12 Yeah, sometimes it’s kind of funny to watch how frustrated they get tryingto figure out what you’re doing and what you’re trying to teach them. And thenwhen they finally get it, to watch that light bulb click on and they just look at youin this amazement.

8:27 That’s the exciting part, is just watching out like just click on and you’relike, YES! Now you understand. And it’s like oh my gosh! The whole worldopens up. And to me, that’s worth a million dollars right there.

Yeah! That’s everything.




Just being able to reach out and get one person to be able to have a controlover themselves. And to be able to want to move forward and just to have alittle more happiness in their life.

Yeah!

Just by, maybe just a couple words can change someone’s life that easy.

Yeah!

9:03 So you guys are sourcing a whole new experience for yourself andclearly, it’s based on your self-awareness. I hear the self-development that’spart of this as well.

Yeah!

Inspired! Would that be a fair way to say it? That ‘aha’ moment for thesepeople around you is like a moment of self-awareness for themselves that thenwould probably, I’m guessing, inspire them toward more self-development aswell?

Yes! Absolutely!

Okay.

9:29 That ‘aha’ moment… what I’m finding interesting is that most of us areused to functioning based on memory experiences. And to be able to reallyalign yourself up and get clear and focus, it’s amazing that you can actuallystart functioning on inspiration and creativity.




9:51 And things just come to you. Those ‘aha’ moments that, you know, oneperson will get another person will get something totally different. Because it’sfor them individually what they can do and blossom. Together as a collective,we don’t have to be competitive with each other. We can actually help lift eachother up. And the more… I get super excited about technology and the newdevelopments that we’re creating that are just kind of becoming better andbetter extensions of ourselves.

10:23 I have three kids, they’re all grown up now, but I’ve had moments that Ihave wished that I had six arms. I remember sitting in my cubicle just imaginingif I had six arms and then going home and going, I wish I had 6 still.

And now with the extension of the Internet, it’s almost as if I do have six armsand I can utilize my time to be more profitable and I don’t have to work 60 or80 hours a week. I don’t even have to work 40 hours a week, and still be thatproductive. That is thrilling! That is just everything to me.




10:58 That’s one good thing about the systems that we do have and you know,having those tools and systems available for us and everyone else if they takeadvantage and want to use them, they’re there for you. And they will improveyou as long.

Yeah.

As long as you take the effort and make it happen.

Yep!

11:18 Yeah, it’s going to be implemented, right?

I mean it’s gotta be, what, actions is the word. You said it right, you’ve got toreceive it and be open to it and then actually apply it in a way. And in manyways, it’s almost like you have to give it away. So we’re back to that customerservice again, are we?

Yeah.

It’s, let me say it this way I guess. My experience has been, I really know whenI have something after I’m able to give it away. Because that seems to be thereal test of my ability to know I have it is that I was able to give it.

11:48 Right! Exactly!

Always give more than what you expect to receive. And you’ll grow a hundredtimes bigger.

Yeah!




Cool, cool! The word warrior still sticks with me. What comes to mind is likeDan Millman I think was the name. “A way of the peaceful warrior”, or was itsomething else that inspired you to use that word as well.

12:08 It was more of… I’m just ready to kick some butt! I’m so tired, I wasthinking actually, of GI Jane and I’m like, what do I want to become? And I waslike, I want to become a business GI Jane. You know. I was thinking DemiMoore of course. You know, so I was just like, yeah let’s just get in there andjust make stuff happen.

12:31 Because like I said, I’ve had people come to me and they seem to justget more pumped when I talk to them and help them get focused and clear.And then they’re just jacked up and then they leave and then they come backdays later and then they kind of deflated themselves and they want me to jackit back up again. You know… and it was like… this is exhausting.

12:51 I’m like, ok so, I’ve learned that to give people those principles anddisciplines so that they can apply themselves and it takes less stress off of me.But it helps elevate them to just become their higher self. And so to me, to be areal warrior, is to become your higher self and to bring your best self forward.

13:14 I was thinking of a samurai or something. Right like that level of warriorthat is about mastery, right. And self-discipline.

Yes! Exactly!




Cool so now if we look at other couples with all this experience you guys havehad building together and implementing systems, what would you offer toanother couple in terms of advice who are building together.

12:38 Smile alot…hahaha. Give lots of hugs and love.

You’re gonna have to figure out of balance. Especially if people have neverworked together before. We’ve worked for different companies together. But,you know it’s still a whole nother ballgame when you’re working for yourself athome. Because we like the convenience to be able to work from home. Soyour home life and kind of really can hinder you sometimes. So you kind ofreally have, to find a balance.

14:11 At one point we were like, okay you do this part and I’ll do that part, and‘parts’ weren’t getting done, so we like, had to kind of readjust. And really thereal focus is what really helped us pull everything together is that both of usindividually took on our own responsibility.

12:35 We took, or were responsible for our actions and responsible for ourown mindset.

We took ownership. Yeah! We took ownership individually. Instead of thatmarital, like… well you better take ownership too, come on! You know so. Butwhen we separately took our full responsibility and took ownership of what it iswe needed to do on a daily basis. And we didn’t really, I don’t say we reallysplit the business decisions or split the work. But being able to do it on aseparate level helps not only our own mindset because then we’re focusing onwhat we are learning. Not trying to teach each other saying, you need to learnthis.

15:27 We need to be teaching them out there. Yeah. We’re already learning it.




But for us and for us taking on full responsibility independently, everything hasjust kind of clicked itself together. It just kind of moulds on such an easier flow,easier wave, less stress, we don’t find as much. So it works way better if youjust take on your full responsibility for you bringing your best self forward. Hecan focus on bringing his best self forward and then together whatever thatcreates is what we present, so.

16:05 Nice, nice. The words come… go within that I don’t go without, right. I’mhearing in each of you, you needed to do that. You needed to build upon thatself-awareness of your own strength going within and knowing what yourstrengths is before you’re able to actually like connect the two of you right.Because you just said this, work together and I loved it to throw it out, togetherwe overcome.

But we really can’t overcome with another unless we first to a certain extentovercome ourselves, can we? Exactly, absolutely. Yeah, you gotta be able topull your own ego out and set it inside. And it’s so hard, you know when you’vebeen married for so long you kinda just naturally become codependent on eachother and just certain things you know like he takes out the trash I wash thedishes. He does the cooking, I do the cleaning. You know, so to switch thatover into business, it doesn’t flow as easy.

17:00 You know. We were trying to make our house life into our business andit doesn’t work. So yeah, really taking on your full responsibility of yourself; itjust melts together and just flows. And that’s that’s so much more important, isthat is that energy of openness and flowing. Yeah, it’s also important to makesure when you’re sitting down it’s time to run your business, you’re running yourbusiness. Especially from home because I’ll tell you what, having a 67 inch TVsitting over there is very difficult not to turn on in play video games or watchesyour sports or whatever it is that you like to watch every single day instead ofgetting in front of your laptop and having the discipline and have the warriorways to get your systems in place and make your business work for you.




17:49 Yeah and we’ve had make rules for ourselves. We don’t turn the TV onuntil nine o’clock at night. So, that’s just a rule we’re sticking to. And then theweekends it’s free for all know so. Monday through Friday TV doesn’t come onuntil nine o’clock at night. The weekends like she said are a free for all.Anytime before that we are either reading, we’re studying other people’s work,reading other blogs, just putting all of our systems in place and getting readyfor the following week. Always plan yourself ahead.

18:22 Yeah. It helps. Because I’ll tell you what, once you get that one little stepbehind, you’re gonna have to take five more steps just to get forward.

18:32 And I hear the self-development seems to be an ongoing element in thissystem doesn’t it to again focus ourselves but also with another shared as youguys are doing here.




Yeah, absolutely! We’ve figured out that our self-development, we kind of haveour own separate, but we each have like our own morning ritual or the firstthing that we do before we work. And it helps us clear our mind, clear ourfocus, know exactly what our intentions are, exactly what we’re doing and thenwe can just execute. And then it just flows through us and you can’t do itbackwards. I mean you could try, but it doesn’t work for us. So we reallyunderstand that at our mindset and our clarity is priority before you just start inthe work. You know, so. Because it pulls you instead of you like fightingagainst that rock and a hard place you know.

So I like things being easier and more flowing.

19:31 Yeah. And I hear ya. From within to without, right? Going within that wedon’t go without. There’s a certain order to it that we better be strong in ourselfbefore we try to be strong with another.

Right! Yes!

19:44 Fantastic guys! Any final words of advice you’d offer couples buildingtogether?




There are definitely really good systems online and great communities that youcan connect to. One of my biggest flaws was that I just wanted to do it alone. Ijust, I don’t want nobody’s help. I wanted everybody to stay out of mybusiness. Haha, and it doesn’t work like that. We need communities and weneed support, our mentors, and you can be a mentor, and all of that togetherjust will help you grow stronger so that you don’t feel like you’re in the dark andyou’re just kinda guessing at things. Trying, you know, poke pins at things. Sohere are amazing communities online now and I think that the taboo of youdon’t want to put yourself online too much because the scary people are gonnasee you or whatever.

20:43 You know that’s the wayside because if you really learn how to do itcorrectly nobody’s gonna be all you know stalking you. There’s ways isprotecting yourself and there’s ways to connecting with people from around theworld you’re all the way in our way over here in the US in Arizona, and we canstill connect with each other. And it’s incredible what we can do together.

21:02 So that is a vital, vital piece that you want to add to your business.Especially if you want to market online and make things easier. Because that’swhere everybody is at. So you need to know how to be a part of thecommunity and be involved.

21:18 Even with things, not even necessarily online. You can take all thesethings that we can teach you and where we can guide you and take that intoyour workplace. Yeah! And that’s what I’ve done and I’ll tell you what, I’vechanged a lot of businesses. I’ve changed a lot of these high-end corporate suitand tie guys mindsets of oh this is how you can do something to make it a loteasier to move forward.




21:48 It’s not a one-time thing. Like even in the beginning, I thought, OK. Ilearned how to clear my mind. It’s not a one-time thing. You have do to it daily.And when you start understanding consistency and doing it daily, things startchanging. Things start changing around you, people start changing. Otherpeople that we’ve taught techniques to and principles they start keeping theirmind focused on the right thing and day by day everything just startsprogressing in the most unusual ways that your conscious brain wouldn’t haveeven fathomed. And you start recognizing miracles everywhere.

22:42 You’re like WOW! This is juicy, I mean this is better than sci-fi. It’sAwesome!

Yeah, people really start to pay attention to you and one thing like for me, I liketo watch a lot of wrestling and one of my favorite wrestlers John Cena. Andone thing that he has said that has stuck to me, he said this about 4 or 5 yearsago is the ones that will scream and yell and boo you are the ones that arepaying attention to you. So if you have someone that’s fighting against you andyelling and screaming and you’re wrong you’re wrong. Those are the ones thatare actually paying attention to what you’re doing. They may not be listening.They may not get it, but they’re paying attention to what it is you’re doingbecause it’s making them angry and they want to figure out what it is you’redoing. And once they get it, that light clicks on, it’s amazing. Then they actuallytake off!

23:54 There’s been a couple of times where I’ve thanked them. It’s alright thatyour fighting against me. I thank you for that. Please keep paying attention.And you walk away and they’re still standing there with this deer in theheadlights look on their face of what did he just say to me. It’s fun sometimes,yeah.




24:18 That’s brilliant guys. I appreciate what you both contributed now becauseCheryl you brought up community and the sense of community as being afurther extension of a system that can be shared and even overlapping systemswhere community bring us together to accomplish things that otherwise wenever could. And then Josh, you just touched on what I call gratitude right. Thisability to be thankful for even people like you said you might be somewhatnegative towards us to be able to get the gratitude out of that and find thatnugget of gold or the diamond and all the coal.
