Attending QUT Open Day was extremely beneficial. It allowed me to experience life on campus first hand and talk to students who were currently studying. This helped me to make a final decision.

Creative Industries Precinct The Creative Industries Precinct at Kelvin Grove campus, including a new $88 million expansion, is the most sophisticated and technically advanced creative space in Australia. Students have access to working spaces that include high-tech lecture facilities, experimental black-box theatres, advanced digital facilities, music and dance studios, production workshops, newsrooms, and multimedia and visual art spaces. Tours of the Creative Industries Precinct are offered at Open Day—refer to the schedule opposite.
Clinical Simulation Centre The Clinical Simulation Centre immerses students in training situations using technology and equipment that simulates real-world experiences. The facility features operational hospital rooms, life-sized ambulance simulators, and multi-casualty sites that imitate a building collapse, car accident or explosion. Students use industry equipment to treat mannequins that offer a realistic patient experience with light-sensitive pupils, bodily fluid excretion, visible breathing, and tolerance to injections and infusions. Take a tour of the centre used by nursing and paramedic science students at Open Day—refer to the schedule opposite.
QUT Health Clinics Students have the opportunity to work with real patients under the supervision of professionals in optometry, podiatry, exercise physiology, psychology and counselling, and nutrition and dietetics, using world-class facilities at the QUT Health Clinics at Kelvin Grove. Take a tour of the facilities used by podiatry and exercise students at Open Day—refer to the schedule opposite.

Kathryn Lukin Creative industries (entertainment industries) and law student
Open Day allowed me to see the different campuses and really get a feel of what life would be like attending university in Brisbane. The best part of the event was chatting to students from all different faculties and seeing how passionate they were about their area of study. It was really motivating.
Are you the parent of a high school student? We’re here to help. We understand helping your child to make course and career decisions is much easier with the right information. Attend one of our seminars for parents at 11am or 2pm and our career counsellors will provide advice about how you can help your child as they transition from school to university.

Tips for planning your day Open Day is all about you. There’s a lot to see and do, so these are our top tips for making the most of your day.
Register online at www.qut.edu.au/open-day to stay updated and you’ll go in the draw to win a MacBook. See the Open Day website for terms and conditions.
Check the best way to get to Open Day and plan your journey in advance so you arrive relaxed and ready to go. We recommend public transport or public car parks walking distance to campus as parking is extremely limited at Gardens Point campus.
Create your online day planner for all the seminars and tours you’d like to attend. See the website for details from early July 2017. Helpful hint: the busiest time of day for seminars is between 11am and 1pm and seminars can reach capacity. Avoid the crowds by planning to come earlier or later in the day.
Have your questions answered by staff and students from all study areas and faculties (including courses based at other QUT campuses) at our course information tents.
Find out about support services, scholarships, applying, accommodation and transport, and overseas student exchange opportunities through seminars or by talking with our helpful staff at the information tents.
Take a guided tour to see the campuses and facilities.
