Cup Regatta and Wooden Boat Shop

Through the years of the CYAA’s Cup Regatta Tim Phillips and his Wooden Boat Shop have been strong supportersof the CYAA Cup Regatta Concour’s d’Elegance Trophy. A feature of this trophy is the adjudication by our visitingmembers from the Classic Yacht Association of New Zealand. Recognition of the importance attached to this trophyby our CYAA members is shown by the total silence when the chair of the trophy adjudicators, Bruce Tantrum, onbehalf of the visiting members, makes known the selection process used for each presentation.

This year, the 2018 CupRegatta Concours will againfeature the Wooden BoatShop Boat Hook trophy, theCup Regatta equivalent ofthe gold plated Wirth’sWhip. The Wirth Whiptrophy for jockey whobought home theMelbourne Cup winner.endured from the 1880’s to2016.

Recent discussions withTim Phillips indicate TheCup Regatta will see astronger sponsorshippresence from the WoodenBoat Shop.
