Mayor Rahm Emanuel enters the mayoral election with the city in an improving mood, with more positive feelings in the neighborhoods, and in a strong position in the first round. While the country remains pessimistic about our direction as a nation, in Chicago a striking 58 percent of voters see their neighborhood headed in the right direction.

a favorable rating, compared to only 34 percent who rate him unfavorably. His standing dwarfs his opponents’.

As a result, the Mayor holds a commanding lead over his opponents, receiving 48 percent of the vote in the February ballot. With 5 percent undecided, the Mayor is poised to win on the first round. He gets broad support in all communities.
