Coventry School of Art and Design has a unique history of design and innovation since 1843. It is an award-winning art school and is one of only a handful of institutions to have won the prestigious Queen’s Award for Further and Higher Education in recognition of world-class education and research. The Faculty of Engineering and Computingis nationally and internationally recognised for its portfolio of first-class education and research opportunities for engineering, mathemathics and computing students. In 2014 it opened the Institute for Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering, which is a ground-breaking collaboration with the Unipart Group, a multinational business, bringing teaching, research and live manufacturing together.

Sciences
The Faculty of Health and Life Sciences has excellent facilities, including well-equipped scientific and clinical skills laboratories, a real ambulance, mock operating theatre and hospital ward. It has strong partnerships with employers from a range of sectors nationally and globally. In 2017 it will be opening a new state-of-the-art £60 million Science and Health super lab.

Campus facilities
The Lanchester Library offers a range of modern study environments. With over 350,000 books, 2,000 print journals and 8,000 electronic journal titles and a range of multimedia resources, it provides a focal point for student learning and information access.
In the centre of the campus is a student building called the TheHub, which provides a vibrant home for our Students Union as well as a range of other services all under one roof. These include careers and employability, spirituality and faith, a doctors’ surgery, counselling, welfare and disability services.
The University prides itself on its excellent provision for sport and recreation with a wide range of facilities and services. The Sports Centre offers a fitness suite, four-court hall — suitable for volleyball, basketball, netball, cricket and football — two-court hall — suitable for table-tennis and badminton and a dance studio — ideal for exercise classes.

The £35 million ‘Hub’ is just one part of a £200 million investment programme at the University’s city centre campus in Coventry. This also includes the £55 million home for the Faculty of Engineering and Computing opened by HRH Princess Royal in 2012. Facilities include a full-size Harrier jump jet, Mercedes AMG Petronas Wind Tunnel, flight simulators and one of the most powerful magnets in the UK.

International Foundation Programme (IFP)This programme is designed to prepare international students, who have completed senior secondary education, for entry to undergraduate studies at Coventry University and or Coventry University London Campus.
This programme includes English, and a choice of three academic subject modules chosen according to the progression degree.
All students who successfully complete the IFP are guaranteed placement on a suitable programme of undergraduate study at Coventry University and or Coventry University London Campus.
Course LengthThe IFP lasts one academic year (three terms) and has entry dates in January, April and September
International Year 1 Programme (IY1)This one-year programme offers successful students progression to year 2 of Business Administration BA or Business Management BA at Coventry University.

Master Qualifying Programme (MQP)This programme is designed to prepare international students for postgraduate study in the UK. The MQP will allow you to improve your English whilst learning
the study skills and research methods that you will need during your Master’s degree studies. Depending on the length of the programme you study, you may also study academic modules relating to your chosen progression route.
All students who successfully complete the MQP are guaranteed placement on a suitable programme of postgraduate study at Coventry University and or Coventry University London Campus.
