Clubs need to fill up Padho Bharat Library Creaon Club Commitment Form Online. Aer distribuon of books to idenfied schools, the Clubs will upload the Project Photos & Report on the TEACH website within 1 month of Book collecon from District.

STEPS FOR SETTING UP PADHO BHARAT LIBRARY

1. Select schools having adequate space for seng up a library. Also idenfy the type of school (Primary/ Secondary/ Higher Secondary/ Elementary).

2. For number of books to be given, RILM suggests a set of minimum 200 books (100 books each in vernacular and English) relevant to school type for establishing the library.

3. Achieve a mix of ficon and non-ficon books. These can be story books and reference books of any genre and should be of age appropriate content without bias or disregard to anyone's beliefs, senments and emoons.

4. Collect books from book donors or from publishers.

5. Suggest schools to maintain 2 registers - one for stock of books as per

Rotary India Literacy Mission had an understanding with Orient Black Swan from whom we had received 3.75 lakh books worth Rs. 5 crore, free of Cost! From the received books RILM is giving English Learning Reference Books / English Story Books etc. ideal for a School Library to Rotary and Inner Wheel Districts for the purpose of creang Libraries in Govt. and Govt. aided schools.

The books once collected by distrcits will have to be alloed to clubs for library creaon within one month. *Districts need to donate Rs. 2.00 per book as handling charges to RILM. A club interested to build one Elementary library in a parcular school will be given 50 primary books and 50 secondary books from the district. However one Primary Library in a Parcular School will be given 2 sets of 50 Primary Books and likewise for Secondary Library.

These 200 Books can be arranged in an Almirah / Book Cabinet provided by the School or the Club to create a School Library as part of PADHO BHARAT- LIBRARY PROJECT under T-E-A-C-H Program of RILM.

PadhoBharat-LibraryProjectage appropriate levels, the other for issuing the books either for reading or house borrowing mode.

6. Shelves at primary schools should not be higher than 120 cm (4 feet). At secondary schools the top of your bookcase should not be higher than 180 cm (6 feet). A 180 cm bookcase with five shelves would hold about 150 books.

7. Put sorted books in age appropriate book-racks. Arrange books by subject.

8. Develop a monitoring/maintenance method for students.

9. Librarian in charge should supervise the process. Upload project details on www.rotaryteach.org as in format of HS 4.1 along with good quality pictures.
