FROM OUR PASTOR “When You said, “Seek My face,”

My heart said to You, “Your face, Lord, I will seek.” (Psalm 27:8)

A characteristic of a Christian is his desire for God. Our Lord expects us to desire and seek Him. Even if we fail God in some way we are still expected to seek and desire God. An exam-ple of a failure would be David. He committed two of the vilest sins, murder and adultery. However, David yearned for God with an intense passion and God responded. As we read the Psalms we see David continually seeking after God. The more David finds out about God the more he wants to know. The apostle Paul is another example. He wrote to the Phi-lippians: “that I may know Him and the power of His resurrec-tion, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death.” Paul wrote this after he was saved. Therefor, Paul was saying he wanted to know God more. A bible reading plan and a daily devotional are great. Yet the Christian must have a desire for more of God. Like Paul and David, we must “seek His face.”
