13. Exhibitors must not pick up dogs by their tails and leads when lifting them nor handle a dog in a manner which causes its feet not touch the ground when on the move. This is not acceptable. Exhibitors should note that such practice would constitute harsh handling and reports of such practice will be referred to the Committee under Kennel Club Show Regulation F11.

Your dog is vulnerable and at risk during hot weather and the Kennel Club offers the following guidance to help guide you through the do’s and don’ts travelling to and whilst at KC licensed events.• When travelling to a show please take a moment to consider whether the route to the show is on a busy holiday

route, and leave earlier to avoid increased time in traffic jams.• If your vehicle is not air-conditioned seriously consider whether travelling to the show is a good idea at all.• The vehicle should be as fully ventilated as possible, and plenty of stops should be taken, with lots of water

available to drink.• Ensure your dog is not sitting in full sunlight. There should be plenty of free flowing air around the dog.• When at the show, never leave your dog in the vehicle.• Keep the dog in the shade - take your own shade for example a large umbrella and always have plenty of water

available to drink so your dog stays well hydrated.• Avoid your dog taking part in unnecessary exertion, or from standing in exposed sunlight for extended lengths

of time. Remember, if you feel hot your dog is very likely to feel much hotter and dehydrated, and this could lead to dire

results. Please look after your dog’s welfare. WARNING: IF YOUR DOG IS FOUND TO BE AT RISK FORCIBLE ENTRY TO YOUR VEHICLE MAY BE NECESSARY WITHOUT LIABILITY FOR ANY DAMAGE CAUSED.

17. Not for Competition entries will be accepted. Details of each dog so entered must be recorded on the entry form and must be Kennel Club registered.

21. No person shall carry out punitive correction or harsh handling of a dog at any time whilst at the licensed venue including it environs, car and caravan parks and approaches.

22. The owner, exhibitor, handler or other person in charge of a dog at Kennel Club licensed events must at all times ensure that the dog is kept under proper control whilst at the licensed venue, including its environs, car and caravan parks and approaches. This Regulation applies before (at any time during the set up period at the venue), during the event and afterwards (at any time during the breakdown of the event).

23. Designated areas will be provided for the convenience of exhibitors desiring to clean and prepare their dogs for exhibition, and no Exhibitor will be permitted to clean and prepare dogs for exhibition anywhere in the Show except in these designated areas.

24. Should any of the Judges be prevented from fulfilling their engagements, the Committee reserve to themselves the right of appointing other Judges to act. Exhibitors will, in that case, be at liberty to withdraw from competition but no entry fees can be returned (Vide Kennel Club Regulations).

25. The Committee of the Show shall provide every exhibitor with a free pass enabling him or her to enter the Show. In the case of a dog owned in partnership only one such free pass will be issued. 30. Special bins will be provided at the Showground in the Dog Section for the cleaning up of all fouling made by the Dogs, and it will be the responsibility of the exhibitors and handlers with dogs in their care to ensure that this rule is carried out fully.

31. All rules and regulations or definitions or instructions in the nature of rules and regulations printed for convenience in other parts of this schedule shall be deemed to form part of these rules and regulations.

32. Should any question arise which is not provided for in these Regulations, the decision of the Committee shall be final, subject to appeal to the Kennel Club.
