Getting Around.

By Car.There is an excellent road network across Dublin city andcounty. This includes a multiple motorways as well as plentifuldual carriageways to ensure a short commute to work.

By Bike.Dublin has over 190 kilometres of cycle routes and thegovernment has committed to expanding and improving cyclinginfrastructure within the city. The Dublin Bikes scheme is one ofEurope’s most successful bike rental projects with 550 bikes and44 stations around the city.

The average commuting time in Dublin is only 28.9 minutesthanks to the services offered by the LUAS, the DART andDublin Bus.

By Bus.Dublin Bus is the biggest public transport provider in Dublin. Itprovides over 136 routes and runs from 5 am to midnight. Thereis also a ‘Nitelink’ service which provides travel as late as 4 am onsome routes. You can pay with change or with a Leap card.However, you need to note that fares are lower when you paywith a Leap card. Visit this link for a comprehensive map of busroutes.

The Red Line (32 stops) runs from Tallaght in the west through thecity centre to Point Village or Saggart to Connolly Station. The Green Line (35 stops) runs from Broombridge out throughRanelagh and Dundrum to Brides’ Glen in the south.

The Luas light rail system offers 2 main lines:

This service typically runs from 5 am to midnight (however thisvaries depending on the stop). The Luas also accepts the Leap aspayment.

By Rail.

Heuston Station provides intercity services to Cork, Limerick, Waterford,Galway, Mayo and Kerry.Connolly Station provides intercity services to Belfast, Rosslare, Wexfordand Sligo.

The DART is a commuter train service that travels through the citycentre to southern suburbs such as Blackrock, Dún Laoghaire,Dalkey and onwards to the coastal towns of Bray and Greystones inCounty Wicklow.
