3 Using the Safety Instructions

3.1 Safety Instructions – StructureThe safety instructions are structured as follows:

Burns and chemical burns due to wrong battery treatment!

CAUTION

Safety alert symbolSignal word

Consequences andsource of danger

Avoiding danger

Do not open the batteries and do not heat them over 80 °C.

Fig.3-1: Safety instructions – structure

3.2 Explaining Signal Words and Safety Alert SymbolThe safety instructions in this documentation contain specific signal words (danger, warning, caution, notice) and, if necessary, a safety alert symbol (according toANSI Z535.6-2006).The signal word is meant to draw the reader's attention to the safety instruction and sig‐nifies the degree of danger. The safety alert symbol (a triangle with an exclamation point), which precedes the sig‐nal words danger, warning and caution is used to alert the reader to personal injury haz‐ards.

DANGERIn case of non-compliance with this safety instruction, death or serious injury will occur.

WARNINGIn case of non-compliance with this safety instruction, death or serious injury can occur.

CAUTIONIn case of non-compliance with this safety instruction, minor or moderate injury couldoccur.

NOTICEIn case of non-compliance with this safety instruction, property damage could occur.

4 Intended UseThe PPC-R control constitutes the hardware basis for the "SYNAX 200" and "VisualMo‐tion" systems by Bosch Rexroth. The systems are used to synchronize machines(shaftless machines). To control and monitor the drive system, it can be necessary to connect additional sen‐sors and actuators.

Danger of destruction of the device if not expresslystated accessories, mounting parts and other com‐ponents, cables, lines, software and firmware areused.

NOTICE

The components may only be used with the accessories and mounting parts listed inthis documentation. Components that are not expressly mentioned must neither be at‐tached nor connected. The same is valid for cables and lines.Operation must only be carried out with the hardware component configurations andcombinations that are expressly specified and with the software and firmware indicatedand specified in the respective documentation and functional descriptions.

Each drive control device and each drive controller has to be programmed before com‐missioning so that the motor executes the application-specific functions.

10 Mounting, Dismounting and Electrical Installation

10.1 Installation Notes● Only vertical installation.

10.2 Installation Steps1. Installation of module carriers

Install the module carriers RMB02.2-04 by snapping them onto a mounting DINrail TS 35 × 27 × 15 and fixing them with a locking bolt.Up to four RMB02.2-04 module carriers can be installed next to each other. Amaximum of 15 different I/O modules can be installed in four module carriersapart from the PPC. If the PPC-R is to control the ECO bus, the PPC-R has to beon slot 0. Configure the slot addressing via the DIP switch on the bus boards ofthe module carrier RMB02.2-04. If only the PPC-R - without the RECO bus - is tobe operated, the dual carrier RMB02.2-02 is used.

Dangerous shock currents caused by insuffi‐cient protective earth conductor connections!

CAUTION

Protective earth conductor connections must not be affected by mechanical, chemical or electrochemical influences. The connection must be durable.

The PPC-R is auniversal platform that provides Motion Control (MC) or PLC functionality that depend‐ing on the application and software. The two interfaces available on the control are fully connected according to the Indra‐mat standard (SIS = Serial Indramat Interface). The data type transfer (function) is onlyselected by the application (RS232/RS422/RS485).A module carrier system consisting of one or several RMB02.2-04 are used to mountthe PPC_R. The dual carrier RMB02.2-02 can only be used as mounting carrier. Thecarrier can only be used to fix the PPC-R, controlling RECO modules is not possible. Itis also not possible to couple several PPC-R via a back plane. The PPC-R can operate up to 15 more I/O modules (RME02.2..., RMA02.2... orRMC02.2...) in this carrier system.Depending on the application, the PPC-R is equipped with PC/104 modules, e.g. foropen field bus interfaces such as Interbus, Profibus etc.
