Update on the Rezoning Feasibility Study

• DeJONG-RICHTER/Cooperative Strategies consultants were selected in September 2015 to conduct a Rezoning Feasibility Study based on their extensive experience with school rezoning, policies, and data analysis.

• The Rezoning Feasibility Study will identify options for efficiently aligning student populations to building capacity to meet our long-range goals.

• Next Step: Gathering initial feedback from the community and the District that will inform the options and any future comprehensive rezoning efforts.

21st Century Building Plan

• 23-28 new/renovated buildings coming on-line

• Approximately 26 building closures per MOU

• Program consolidations, co-locations, and grade reconfigurations

• Spot-rezoning is used to accommodate school closures and consolidation of programs

A more comprehensive approach is needed for the District to balance and maximize its resources.
