Director.s Report

The riding season is now in full swing. Hope youhave been getting sorne saddle tirne. May has beengreat for riding, being rnostly dry, but it did get alittle too dry. The dust was horrendous.Fortunately, we received a couple inches of rain inthe last few days. I've certainly seen lots ofrnotorcycles out this rnonth. The Memorial DayWeekend had bikers everywhere. The May 6thride was rained out but Jirn has rescheduled it forSepternber 23rd. The May 20th ride was great. Ithink we had 14bikes and 19people. That wasactually rny first bike ride since March 16th and boydid it feel good. The best way I can describe it is tosay its like sitting in your favorite chair, only theview keeps changing.

The Ivy Grove Cafe in Spring Grove was agreat destination. They had good food and excellentservice. Considering the size of our group, wereceived our food very quickly. Thanks Randy andSandy for a really nice ride. I will take a jacketalong next tirne though. It was nice and warrn whenwe left Monona but it was downright cold inMinnesota. I had goose burnps on rny arrns for thelast ten rniles into Spring Grove. The sweatshirtcarne out of the trunk for the trip horne.

The May 11th chapter rneeting was wellattended. My thanks to all who carne. The rideschedule for this year is getting filled up. I amlooking forward to a very good riding season. Thenext Chapter rneeting is June 8th, 6:30 Prn atWaukon HD. June 2nd is Lynn's "Ride for Life"cancer benefit ride, which is a non-chapter eventand open to all. It is always a great ride for a greatcause. Sunday, June 3rd is the Spillville Ride, another non-chapter event open to all. It is a self-guided ride. The Waukon H-D Dad's Day prornotionwill be Saturday June 9th, with lots of specials.

I plan on having the Director's ride on June10th. Meet at Monona Kwik Star at 10:00AM, ride at10:30. The destination will be the Irish Shanti inGunder. We've been there before but its been acouple of years. June 24th will be Quentin's FunRun. Meet at Decorah at 10:00AM. If you haven'tbeen on one of our Chapter rides yet, please cornejoin us. We always have a good tirne.

Have an awesorne day, and rernernber;always read stuff that willrnake you look good if youdie in the rniddle ofit.

Happy Riding,Steve Trurnblee, [email protected] 563-536-2848
