1. What is the function of Malaysian Higher Education system?

Institutions of higher learning in Malaysia provide opportunities to equip individuals with knowledge, skills and professionalism to meet the need of national human resources for the national development. The public and private institutions play important roles to fulfill the national needs.

Besides the public educational system, there also exists a widespread and expanding system of private institutions ranging from kindergarten to university.

2. What is aerospace sector? The aerospace sector is included those firms engaged

in research development, and manufacturing for all the following :

Aerospace

Including man / unmanned aircraft

Missile

Space launch vehicle

Spacecraft

3. What is the organization established to guide and develop human resource in aerospace sector?

5. Why should Malaysian Higher Education system support the aerospace sector?

to create wider opportunities for Malaysians graduates  

to meet the National blueprint to make Malaysia an Aerospace nation by the year 2020.  

to support to MIAC as a part of  Government strategic Malaysian High value.

6. What are the aerospace sector’s benefits to the country?

Politics international collaboration  

Social  upgrade quality of life 

Economy FDI, tourism, business  

Technology medical & health, new technologies in aerospace can be used for medical engineering.

7. What will happen if Malaysian Higher Education system did not support the aerospace sector?

If Malaysian Higher Education System did not support the Aerospace sector, our country will be lagging behind other countries in the region.

Malaysia also will not be meeting the target in Aerospace Sectors.

Our student will miss the opportunities to upgrade themselves.

The government have to spend a lot of money to send student abroad to study.

8. What is the job scope in aerospace sector?

9. Is it value added to the country for the Malaysian Higher Education System to support the Aerospace Sector?

Yes, 1st , because Aerospace Sectors increase the number of Engineer, Manager and Scientist. 2nd, Attract more investment. 3rd, Malaysia will meet the target to be an Aerospace Nation by the year 2020.

4th, Improvement in trade and technology.

10.Do the aerospace sector industries have good collaboration with the local university? Yes, because in some ways the industry will support the university by giving motivation (industrial visit), on-job training and job opportunity. 

Besides there are for R&D activities such as :  USM Satellite development UiTM Helicopter / specific solution MiAT Aviation Industries

11.What are the special skills needed by aerospace industries that are provided by Malaysian University?

Management Skills

R & D skills

Manufacturing

High-technology component

Monitoring high quality standard

Conclusion Aerospace is a mature industry which is highly regulated and

financially geared. The Malaysian Aerospace Industry has grown from RM10.8 billion in 2001 to around RM21.5 billion in 2006.

With the recent growth in the Aerospace and Aviation Industries and the continued growth within the Asia Pacific.

Thus, to meet the national blueprint to make Malaysia an Aerospace nation by the year 2020, Malaysian Higher Education system should supports the human resource capacity and capability of the aerospace sector.
