ROUND ROCK RANCHBest Towns for FamiliesEnclave Update
The Enclave Board received an interesting update from a Home Owner: they have mice! It seems that field mice love to use lawn clippings and tree trimmings as bedding and making nice homes for them to make families in. Littering and not securing the lids to trash cans provide them with lots of goodies to feed their babies, and when the food on the ground outside runs out, they will find a way inside! Yikes! A single female field mouse can have 5-8 babies at a time - and 4-5 litters per year.
As our corner of the neighborhood is close to some of the local fields, varmints like mice and rats are close by and attracted to any food source. These rodents can also bring fleas and ticks into your yard who can then find their way inside on your pets.
It could be worse – Forest Creek has a pack of Coyotes! So, just a reminder to throw litter away in the trash/recycle
bins, sweep after you mow and trim and make sure trash can lids are sealing properly. You might want to take some time to seal any outside holes and block the critters from getting inside.
The Board is working on getting a copy of the Parking Policy Reminder out to all of the homes. One of the major alterations was in line #4:
“Parking on the sidewalk sides of the streets shall be parallel to the curb and shall not interfere with the normal flow of traffic.”
There are two situations residents need to be aware of: 1. Our roads are narrower than most neighborhoods’
and thus do not allow enough space for parking on a right angle along the curved sections. (common practice in the area) Residents and their guests should park parallel to the curb - the best they are able – in order to keep the vehicle from obstructing traffic flow.
2. Rosenborough Residents: the planters in the middle of the N and S streets, love them or hate them, present an unfavorable parking and traffic situation. If you are parking too close to the planter, you may be forcing cars to cross over into the opposing traffic lane. Please allow for enough room for traffic to get around the planters on the sidewalk side of the road when you park near them.
The Board has received numerous complaints on these two items over the last six months as we were updating the policy and continue to receive them. Violators will receive a warning, then a sticker, then are eligible to be towed.
The Enclave sends out an email about once per week keeping residents of things that are going on in the area. If you would like to receive this, please send an email to [email protected] or [email protected]
There are currently about 35 of the 95 Enclave homes on our email list as it is voluntary.

Family Circle annual survey ranks Round Rock among top 10 in United States
Family Circle announced July 7, 2010, that Round Rock ranks among the best TOWNS AND CITIES across the country FOR FAMILIES, according to its exclusive survey.
The communities featured in the magazine’s annual roundup of perfect places to call home combine affordable housing, good neighbors, green spaces, strong public school systems and giving spirits.
"I call it the promised land," said Norma Saldivar, whose family is featured in the magazine’s profile of Round Rock. "Living here is a blessing."
Mayor Alan McGraw said it takes everyone in the community pulling together to be regarded as one of the best towns for families.
“We’ve known for years that this was a special place for families to call home, so it is an honor to be recognized by a popular national publication. I am proud to live in Round Rock with good neighbors and an unmistakable giving spirit.”
According to Family Circle’s survey, the 10 Best Towns are:- Round Rock, Texas- Edmond, Okla.- Hampton Township, Penn.- Edwardsville, Ill.- La Verne, Calif.- Windsor, Colo.- Simpsonville, SC- Bristol, RI- Meridian, Idaho- Bettendorf, Iowa
