QPR SUITE 2012.2 INSTALLATION

QPR Suite 2012.2 installation is divided into two (2) separate packages, firstly, for client

components and secondly, for server components. The package contains the following

components:

Clients Package Servers Package

QPR User Management Client QPR Foundation Server

QPR Metrics QPR Metrics Server

QPR EnterpriseArchitect QPR Web Application Server

QPR Web Services Server

1.1

Getting Started for Clients Package

Basic requirements for a typical QPR 2012.2 Clients installation are as follows:

Supported operating system (Windows XP SP3 or newer)

Microsoft .NET Framework (3.5 SP1 and 4.0)

Microsoft Office 2007 / 2010

Browser capable of rendering Adobe SVG

Administrative privileges for installation

1.2 Installing the Clients Package

Follow the instructions below to install QPR Suite 2012.2 Clients:

1. Double-click on this icon

2. Choose setup language and click OK to start the installation.

The window QPR Suite 2012.2Clients InstallShield Wizardwill be shown. Then,

click Next.

4. Click on I accept the terms in the license agreement and click on Next button.

5. Select Client Components window will be pop up. Under Modeling Tools section,

you need to select QPR EnterpriseArchitect and select on QPR Metrics Client, and

QPR User Management Client.

6. Then, click on Next button to proceed.

You will see Destination Folder. Define the folder which will be the installation root

folder for the QPR Suite 2012.2 Clients package. By default the folder is

C:\Program Files(x86)\QPR Software Plc\QPR 2012.2 Clients\. Click Next to continue.

8. Next, you will see Select Additional Tasks window. In this dialog you can uncheck

the additional features that will be installed. Click Nextto continue.

Then, you will see Ready to Install the Program window pop up. Once you have

satisfied with the settings, click Install to start the installation.

Now the program features that you have selected are being installed. The status is

Installing Microsoft .NET Framework 4.0 Full (Download).

11.Then, click on I have read and accept the license terms. Click Install to continue.

You need to wait while the .NET Framework is being installed.

13.The installation is now complete. Check the Install QPR Server Components. Click

Finishbutton to continue.

1.3 Getting Started for Servers Package

Basic requirements for a typical QPR 2012.2 Servers installation are as follows:

Supported operating system (Windows Server ) Browser capable of rendering Adobe SVG

Microsoft .NET Framework (3.5 SP1 and 4.0)

Web server (Microsoft Internet Information Services 7.0 / IIS 7.5)*

Administrative privileges for installation

1.4 Installing the Servers Package

Follow the instructions below to install QPR Suite 2012.2 Servers:

1. Double-click on this icon

2. Choose setup language and click OK to start the installation.

The window QPR Suite 2012.2 Servers x86 InstallShield Wizardwill be shown.

Then, click on Next.

4. Click on I accept the terms in the license agreement and click on Next button.

You need to select Completeinstallation and click on Nextbutton.

6. Define the folder which will be the installation root folder for the QPR Suite 2012.2

Servers package. This folder contains the executable and libraries required to use the

software. By default the folder is C:\Program Files (x86)\QPR Software Plc\QPR

2012.2 Servers\

If you have installed IIS, the folder will be detected automatically and the web

contents will be placed in a qpr2012.2 sub-folder under that folder. Click Next to

continue.

8. For this window, you need to tick on Standalone installation (start servers when a

client is started). Selecting this option configures the software so that servers are

started when a client (QPR Metrics) is launched. This option cannot be used

simultaneously with the Install QPR 2012.2 as a service options. Click Next to

continue.

9. Once you have satisfied with the settings, click Install to start the installation.

10.The installation is now complete. Then, you need to tick on the Activate the

software now. Click Finishto continue.

Then, QPR Product Activation Wizardwill be pop up. You need to fill in at least all

the fields marked with an asterisk (*). After filling in the required information, click

Next to continue. The information you provided is sent to QPR during the activation.

The License Agreement is displayed. After reading the license agreement, tick the I

accept the licensing terms. Click Next to continue.

13.Define the activation method. You can choose to activate the software

Automatically via Web. Click Next to continue. At the final stage, your new

activation status is displayed. Then, click Finish to close the QPR Activation

Utility.
