PASS THE PACIFIER!! Donors join in showering the latest addition to St. Luke’s Family

With the impending arrival of St. Luke’s new infant and toddler rooms

(due date: Oct 4th), St. Luke’s hosted a Baby Shower in early August.

Thanks to all those who attended in making this a most memorable

event! In addition to the much needed baby gifts we received that day,

we are more than grateful for the other donors who sent gifts to help

furnish our new nurseries. We couldn’t have done it without you!

St. Luke’S toy Store

Please call us at 350-1134

beginning November 1st to be

matched with a low-income

family or senior living in Old West

Nashville. All Christmas gifts

should be delivered to St. Luke’s

by December 13th.

Adopt-A-Family

Over 400 families (including nearly 900 children) were served during the Christmas season last year between our Toy Store and Adopt-A-Family programs. It's time to start thinking about organizing a toy drive during the holiday season. St. Luke's gives away free, new toys to our low-income families so they have one less thing to worry about during this often-stressful time. Our Toy Store will be held this year December 6th through December 8th so we will need all toys (for ages 0-16) to St. Luke's on Dec. 2nd & 3rd!

Please let us know if you are planning to have a St. Luke’s toy drive by contacting Becky Stubbs, Toy Chair, at 292-7558

or via e-mail at [email protected].

Seasonal Volunteer Opportunities(615) 350-1134

Toy Store & Adopt-A-Family Registration- Help us screen and collect information from families signing up for our holiday programs and help redistribute toys and gifts. Various time slots are available Nov-Dec.

Food Box- Help us make sure our hungry neighbors have access to the food they need. As a Second Harvest satellite, we operate a very busy food bank and need help packing food boxes during our hours of operation. Lunch included! Great company! Fun working environment! Volunteers needed weekdays 9:30a - 1:30pm. Also - food drive coordinators needed! We are currently experiencing a VERY low supply of food.

Mobile Meals-Deliver meals and companionship to homebound elderly. We currently have a need for a regular driver to deliver meals on Thursdays. In addition, we really need "substitute drivers" we can call on when our 'regulars' are unable to be here. Weekdays 10:30a- Noonish. This is one of the MOST important volunteer jobs because you are really a lifeline to our senior neighbors.

A look at St. Luke’s New Facility

Holiday Volunteer Opportunites for all ages

On Thursday, September 9th, St. Luke's Community House dedicated their new facility with much celebration. The Right Reverend Bertram Herlong and the Honorable Bill Purcell joined Board Chair Stuart McWhorter and Campaign Chair Jack Bovender in saluting this 91-year-old Episcopal ministry in West Nashville.

Nearly four hundred attendees gathered in the restored "Old Gym" and were treated to red door cookies and lemonade. Guests were able to see the new classrooms, a fabulously equipped kitchen, a remodeled living room, and a spacious preschool library. One of the original red doors was mounted in the entry hall and held the names of all who supported this $5 million project. Guests were given a hand-painted tile produced by the school-age children as a memento of this special day.
